With a year and a 1/2 to plan for my wedding, I had A LOT of time to search for that special dress. I stayed away from Mon Amie & Saks 5th Ave. fearful of falling in love with a dress that would be WAY out of my budget. It was at Mon Amie that I found the perfect dress - unlike any other and thousands less than I had expected! I can't wait to wear it down the aisle!!! Pros: selection, service, atmosphere more

The selection at Mon Amie can't be beat! After shopping at other chain stores I realized that Mon Amie's dresses had that *special something* that set them apart! Worried about flattering my plus-size figure, I did lots of trying on at other stores only mediocre results. And I'm on a budget like any bride, but my salesgirl didn't quibble when I asked to only see the lowest end gowns. She explained each room represents a price range (up to $5k!) and we stayed in the lowest priced room (up to $1k). After two appts & trying on over 40 gowns from their La Femme collection (sizes 16-34) in their huge dressing rooms, I found ""the one""! And yes, my gown cost about $250 more than others I'd seen - but it was stunning! I opted to spend the extra money to have something different & beautiful. I highly recommend them! I went to Mon Amie after I had bought my wedding dress and while I was looking for a veil. I had a great experience at their store, with friendly staff and a lot of selection. I also ended up choosing a piece of hair jewelry to go along with it. Their prices are a little high, but it is a quality store and I would defintely recommend adding Mon Amie to your list of "Can't Miss" bridal stores. more

I tried on dresses at this salon and had my bridesmaids try on dresses at this salon and both experiences were highly unpleasant. The staff was unfriendly and snooty and the scheduling staff was not nice and extremely unhelpful and unbelievably inflexible. I was dumb enough to buy my dress here, but didn't buy my bridesmaid dresses here because the service was just awful. If you want your bridal gown shopping experience to be great, this is absolutely not the place to go. My guess is that you're not going to be a repeat customer, so why bother being nice? Mon Amie has the best service for brides. They are very helpful in choosing the perfect dress. I explained the type of dress I wanted and they would bring in groups of dresses matching my description. They also suggest dress that I may not have thought of but are good for my body type. Each room is very private with large mirrors. They have a variety of price ranges, including designer dresses. So, they can fit almost any budget. They carry a line of accessories too. Probablly the best customer service in a bridal shop. more

Like an earlier reviewer I had an alright time trying on dresses, but after you make your selection watch out. The staff is extremely rude on the phone (I traveled almost 2 hours to get there so I had to use the phone to communicate much of the time), they lost a payment check, we had to order a fabric swatch 3 times - each time they swore we never ordered it. The dress came in four weeks before the swatch. Then trying to schedule a time when I could do a verification fitting was a nightmare. The setting is nice and the gowns are pretty, but it is NOT worth the trouble of dealing with the staff. After spending so much money on one item it is heartbreaking to call and be told that ""they are really busy and they don't have time to deal with me."" I went to this store first and foremost. I had heard from friends that they had a really large selection of dresses and accessories to choose from. They employees were so helpful! I brought in photos detailing what I wanted, and they came back with a bunch of dresses identical to what I was looking for!!! The price range is wide, so can spend a little or a lot. Great location which is really close to the freeway too. more

I also drove down from LA to costa mesa to look for my wedding gown. I had been to many shops already and hadn't found "the gown". The salesgirl was so helpful - all i really had to do was tell her what i liked and didn't like. She brought me several gowns to try on - I didn't have to browse through racks after racks trying to envision the gown on me. Her selections were right on the dot - exactly what i was looking for. The prices are higher though and they do rip tags for non-couture designers. But if you ask them, they will usually tell you what designer you're trying on. Make an appointment as they only service by appointment. Also, the alterations are very pricey there so I would shop around for an independent seamstress. more

I drove all the way from LA to check this place out...and I loved it the moment I walked in. Service was extremely friendly and helpful. They carry a lot of designers and have a ton of beautiful dresses. My consultant was very warm and fun. They alsohave large private dressing rooms with couches and chairs so you don't have to walk out of your room to see yourself in the mirror. It was nice to have the privacy and not have the world watching you try on every single dress. Overall the service was wonderful and the experience great. note-appointments are necessary and well worth it! more

Before I had payed for my dress the service was ok. But once I started my fittings everything changed. They had promised, prior to my first fitting that they would have a large array of bra sizes available and didn't have to purchase anything on my own. When I showed up for my first fitting they tried to sell me a USED bra because they had nothing in my size. No one cared at all that this happened. It's not worth the headache. more

Why would you buy your gown any place else? If the many years they have been in business and the huge selection of gowns & designers arent enough to convince Brides then trust me, your Mon Amie experience will! Buying a wedding gown is such an emotional purchase, sometimes stressful! Mon Amie helped me find the perfect gown; they made it truly a special memory for me from start to finish. The sales girls are professional, friendly and had my best interest at heart. I also loved that my gown was exclusive to Mon Amie so I wouldn't see someone else wearing it! My best friend bought her gown there and had an equally wonderful experience. No matter what your budget, style or time limit Mon Amie will find your perfect gown and make you feel like a princess! They were the best bridal store I visited in So Cal. My best friend and I both got our dresses at Mon Amie. The service was excellent and the staff was freindly and helpful during the whole expereince. I recommended them to another friend and she just got her dress there. more

Walking into Mon Ami, I immediately knew I was in for a rough time, when the salesgirl looked me over with an icy look and peeked to try to see the size of my engagement ring. The staff made me feel as if I were in a museum-- that I was not worthy enough to touch the dresses let alone try them on. The salesgirl who helped me tried to remind me again and again of the prices of certain dresses, and would rather gossip with her friends rather than help me out.
