Worst Food Ever/Worst Customer Service Ever 8/20/2008

I recently stopped into Geoffrey's on August 14th with a friend and her daughter. We wanted to have a light meal before driving home and ordered numerous appetizers, none of which were edible. I told the waiter how sub-standard the meal was and he apologized and then brought the check without offering to adjust the bill since we did not eat any of the food. Even my friends daughter remarked that her noodles and butter tasted funny. I called the next day and spoke to the general manager who was equally as unresponsive and said she would have the owner call. Six days later I have heard from no one. It's a shame to waste such a nice view with such awful food and such disregard for customers.\r \r Pros: Nice view Cons: food, service, customer care more

Good, but not the best in Malibu 6/5/2008

Geoffrey's (pronounced "Joffrey's") is your quintessential Malibu restaurant: great ocean view, great service. The food is pretty good, but not the best. (Better local food, lesser ocean view at Beaurivage down PCH.) This is a good date, anniversary, special (but casual) occasion restaurant for the evening & a great lunch place for business. We locals eat here frequently. The last time I ate here was a few weeks ago, and I'd had occasion to eat identical appetizers (brie baked in pastry with stewed apples and gorgonzola) and desserts (tiramisu) at Beaurivage in the same week. Geoffrey's was very good, but Beaurivage was better. The relaxed ambiance at Geoffrey's is better. The meat dishes are very good, but the accompanying starch can be a little weird (especially with the dim night lighting) in its presentation. Tasty if you like the carbs. Geoffrey's is still one of my favorite restaurants in Malibu. Pros: superb view, superb service, pretty good food (not the best) Cons: chairs aren't that comfortable; valet service is mandatory because PCH parking is unsafe more

Stunning View, Great Service 5/28/2008

I have been bringing out of town guests to Geoffrey's for years. I wanted to take the time to write this review to let everyone know I had the best experience this past Saturday. The service, food and management were incredible. I have always liked Geoffrey's but this time I found it to be amazing. more

what happened to this place 5/22/2008

iIdont know what happened to this place. I am always there, at least 2 times a week. All the staff was great and happy and now they all seem to hate working there. they all just stand around with a look of bordom, i asked a couple of people what happened and they all said it was the change in management and i can see it on all of their face. And my favorite staff members are gone.where will i go now for great service?if you end up going there be nice to the staff they need the pick me up. Pros: the old staff Cons: the new vibe more

You can't go wrong!!! 5/12/2008

There is no better view and or atmosphere in LA than at Geoffrey's. The service is wonderful, the food delicious and it's great for brunch or dinner. Great date spot, but be prepared to pay for it. Well worth it though!!! Pros: atmosphere, view, service, food more

Best deserts & beautiful atmosphere 3/4/2008

I have dined at Geoffrey's a few times and every time it has been a wonderful experience. I would suggest going there for lunch because of the beautiful view and due to the mirrors on the walls, no matter where you sit you feel like you're looking out at the ocean - nice touch. The filet mignon is my personal favourite and has always been cooked exactly the way i requested it. And make sure you leave room for a desert, from the bread pudding to the passion fruit tower (an exotic sweet creation) everything I have tried so far was delicious. The wait staff and management have always been on point, friendly and very attentive. Just make sure you do go when the weather is nice and warm because you are outside the whole time and even though they offer heat lamps, they won't keep you warm for a whole dinner ;-) Overall....Geoffrey's is one of my all time favourite places in LA and even though you pay a bit more than for a regular dinner, it is not over-priced and well worth it! Was a little scared from all the poor reviews... 2/10/2008

... but figured how bad can it be? Even if the food and service was to be poor... there's still the view and a few cocktails to look forward to. Well... the food was OUTSTANDING and the service was exceptional. Obviously everything changes over time, but as of right now... the place is right on!\r \r I look forward to my return.\r \r PS - Best Risotto I?ve had west of the north end (Boston)! Pros: view, food, service Cons: it's not in my backyard more
