Nicollet Village Video moved & changed their name. They are in the Seward neighborhood:
Filmzilla
2701 East Franklin Ave
mpls 55406
They area open noon to midnight every bloomin' day of the year.
You can't say you love movies if you don't have a membership here.
There is no other movie rental place in Minneapolis. They have tens of thousands of rentals, and will try to find and buy anything they don't have. Filmzilla specializes in rare, independent and art-house films.
Filmzilla rents movies. They don't rent games, they don't rent DVD machines, they don't buy your used DVD's. They do one thing, and are the best at what they do. They have won City Pages best video store of the year several times. And should.
The customer service? They do what they can. Overheard:
Clerk: ""I don't do customer service. I help people. That requires a little effort on your part.""
(As a server putting myself through college, I laughed loud and long at that one.)
The clerks are clearly overworked. It is a small indy business, and a meager staff is required to keep the place open. It's not an easy job, despite what people think. Filmzilla's help and know-how is something netflix will never provide. At that is from the clerks.
If you want the widest selection of rare or hard to find, independent, foreign, documentary, avant garde, anime, or b-movies, get a free membership and get the best deal in movie prices and selection anywhere. My netflix account is now CLOSED. I don't like the corporate monopoly netflix is developing into.
If you want the best, most extensive, inexpensive, coolest movie rental store in the 7 state area, go to FILMZILLA.
If you want your butt kissed, go back to your plush suburb, hire a therapist or get an escort.
