Best

I have been going to Dick's since I was a kid. I live on the Eastside but still drive over a couple times a month to Seattle just for the food. Awesome

Worst

These fries are so heavy and greasy that they may actually drip if you squeezed them- really gross if you ask me!

YUCK!!! 8/30/2002

Is it me? Or is Seattle Taste Deaf??? Dicks Drive in only offers greasy burgers with ketchup, grade B cheese, and Mustard. No modification allowed. I do not understand why someone wants to pay $1.99 - $2.99 for that. Cons: Crowded, No Modifications alwd more

Satisfying 8/30/2002

This is a great place to hang out and eat great food. The shakes are real ice cream and they will try to make any flavor you ask for. The thing I find most incredible is when taking your order, they do all the adding in their heads. This is definately not a place for someone who is dieting, but it IS a place with great food and fun. Pros: real ice cream shakes, best tasting burger, great fries Cons: none on the east side more

Can you say cowchips??? 8/30/2002

Once again it's one of those magical things that makes it larger than life. Dicks drive in is deffinitely a local Icon. About their burgers though... did you know they are pre-cooked and then place on a hotplate until you come along and order one??? Yes the deluxe is very good when you get it hot off the grill. In most cases it will be hot off the hotplate though, and the patties will be dried up and full of those awefull little crunchy pieces of gristle. The lettuce is completely wilted and the cheese dried up in various places. Ever been served some of those fries that were under the heating lamp for too long?? You know, the ones that look like dried up slugs. Ya Dicks is good if you get their burgers and fries freshly made. Good luck trying to find that LOL. Pros: bugers/fries (fresh), Shakes, prices Cons: bugers/fries (old), hotplate-heating lamp, Cold weather line more

Over-rated 8/30/2002

Just your typical, greasy diner burgers. It's the history and atmosphere that make this place memorable. more

Dont Eat Dicks 8/30/2002

Ooooooover rated floppy burger patty, soggy fries that only tast good because of the salt, milkshakes, well those are O.K. but then again they are O.K anywhere. Pass it up!!!! Pros: fast, neat, parking Cons: taste, location, value more

A small bit of Americana 8/30/2002

In an overly corporately cooked world, Dick's reminds us of what early fast food restaurants were like in the 1950's. Before multinational corporations laid claim to this industry, the small local burger joints gave us our first taste of fast food. Not surprisingly, it was and still is superior to the Fast Food Nation of today. Kudo's to Dick's for reminding us that we still have choices. Pros: Inexpensive, high quality more

AWESOME 8/23/2002

I just loved it! Late night drunk food. I am from Kansas, and when I moved here I HAD to stop in the Burger join made so famious by Sir Mix-A-Lot! I LOVE IT more

Where's the BK 8/15/2002

The kind of place you go to after a night on the town. I don't live around this area and frankly I'd rather go to JIB. This is truely a place for locals who are used to cheap burgers and soggy fries. I was looking forward to having a Dicks burger and was dissapointed. There was not nuch taste them and the pigons were more than happy to eat the fries. I don't recommend Dick's. Pros: Fast Cons: small burgers, tastless, soggy fries more

Smartest place in town! 8/13/2002

If your total is $5.85 and you give the clerk six ones and a dime, you immediately get back a quarter! I've seen lots of places where that maneuver would get you blank stares and then the clerk pulls out a piece of paper to figure out why you gave the money you did. THis is a great place to support. Highest fast-food wages and money for college. Oh, and the food: Nothing beats a Dick's burger, fries, and a shake in your car on Holman Road. Pros: Inexpensive, Great community biz more

ok 8/9/2002

Forget the diet. Dick's Drive In is a cheap eat whether you are on Capital Hill or Queen Anne Hill. The burgers are small so more than one is necessary. The fries are some of the greasiest one will find. There shakes do contain real ice cream so better that than there fountain drinks. Pros: cheap food more

Great Burgers 8/8/2002

One of the best if not the best burgers in the area, I really enjoy the fast service and good food that I get everytime I stop. I just wish that there were more of them in the Puget Sound area. I live in the South Puget Sound area and if I want a burger I have to go into Seattle to get one. I do wish that they would expand a little more. Pros: Inexpensive, Great Food Cons: Not enough locations, Parking more

get full for 2 bucks 8/3/2002

dicks is a good cheap place to eat with some of the best burgers and fries around .where else can you eat lunch or dinner for 2 dollars and get full. more

Best fries in town 7/26/2002

Dick's has been a Seattle institution since before I was born. A Dick's deluxe, fries and a shake has to be one of my favorite guilty pleasures. The burgeres and shakes are good, but ,oh, those fries. Unlike a lot of the competition they are made with real potatoes, they aren't processed. more

ahh! 7/26/2002

The best fries in town and great burgers and shakes at great prices... what more can you ask for?? Pros: inexpensive, great food, fast service Cons: bad parking more

""Tradition"" is ALL is has going 7/25/2002

I hear all of my friends ranting about ""Dicks"", but when I corner them into specifics, about the only thing they actually have come up with is that they have great shakes. I agree, the shakes are really good. However, the hamburgers themselves are really nothing to rave about. To me, they are about the same as the A & W mama burger. PLUS they charge extra for everything including KETCHUP!!!! I find the place ""old"", which is why I think it is so popular.....days of reminiscing when ""drive-in"" hamburger places were popular because basically it was a place to ""hang-out"". I also thought that the fries were greasy, and definately poor quality. A Wendy's 99 cent Quarter pound deluxe (with tomatoe, lettuce and the works), is FAR better!!! Pros: Good shakes, service okay Cons: Poor food, Dirty surroundings, Expensive more

A tradition! 7/23/2002

A tradition! The best burgers around. I love Dick's for great burgers & wonderful shakes. more

PAAALLLEEEZ! 7/22/2002

All I wanted was a cheeseburger with NO CATSUP! It was like I was asking for the Nobel Peace Prize. PAAALLLEEEZ! The service was horrible and the mush mouthed (on Broadway) burger server needed a dental hygienist! A burger mill would be embarrassed to know that DICK'S is associated as a resteraunteur! Cons: The smell, Horrible parking lot, Icky food more

open late, could be worse 7/19/2002

well, a drunken stumble for some fast food is often nice a two or three am; and the parking lot always offers good people watching. I've heard that as a company Dick's treats its workers pretty good and pays them better than it's competitors so with that in mind it get my support. Pros: grease is bad, grease smells bad, bad for tummy Cons: cheap, late night, local more

Best fries? Surely you jest. 6/27/2002

Ok, see Dick's okay. I've been living here about a year or so now, I've prolly eaten food from one Dick's or another at least a dozen times by now. If I've learned one thing, it's this: get a Special and a shake to go with your Deluxe, but skip the fries. I never thought I'd say this about a bag of fries, but the ones from Dick's are too greasy, even for me. They are all soggy and gross. Ew. The burgers and shakes, however, do not suck. The Queen Anne location, where you can order and sit down inside, seems to miss the point. I prefer the drive-in window locations, just for the charm of it. How this got voted best fries, however, is just totally beyond me. I can only conclude that native Seattle people really do know almost nothing about what is good. Pros: window!, burgers Cons: nasty fries, grease, painted orange more

Nostalgia 5/28/2002

Really not very good. Cheap, fast and low quality. is what you get. But the locals have eaten here forever and feel nostalgic over the place. Think McDonalds Pros: cheap, fast Cons: Bad burger more
