These are obviously being written by one of their marketing people for the whole Dick Hannah group Just search for Dick Hannah in citysearch and you will see ""5 star"" reviews for ALL their dealerships Let us be honest here. Car buyers are the most hard to please customers even when the dealer is being very honest and doing everything in their power. Decent price-no trade-a little game playing 1/27/2010

I called on a cruiser FJ that was at Dick Hannah's Longview Toyota store. I spoke to someone I assumed was representing that store. After a 1 1/2 hour drive we were greeted by Don Martin. Don's a very friendly, straight shooting guy. When we said we were ready to make a deal we were informed we had spoken to a manager at the Hannah Kia store in Vancouver and would have to drive another 45 miles down the road to do the deal there. Looking back I should have just asked for a salesman from the Toyota store, but liked Don and went ahead and followed him to Vancouver. The price on the Cruiser was pretty good, but we were offered 1/2 of low book on our trade-in. This is the second time we've bought from a Hannah store and both times were offered crap for pretty nice cars. Basically, I was told that unless your trade is just a few years old you will be offered very little at a Hannah store..that's Dick Hannah policy. I've bought two cars from Dick Hannah stores but never been able to trade a car in, choosing instead to bring them home and sell them myself. We bought the car and were treated well by the salesman and the finance manager. I didn't appreciate adding another 2 hours to an already 4 hour round trip drive and felt almost shanghaied in that respect. I was told that when you go to buy a Car form these big dealerships you were suppose to put on your Warrior face and prepare for a battle. In my case however, I wasn't given the chance to practice my acting skills. The salesman who approched me when i got to Dick Hannah Kia was so nice, with a big cheesy grin on his face the whole time. I didn't even argue too much he gave me a great price on a black kia Forte and didn't mind my asking the same questions over. At the end I was the one driving out of the lot with a great big cheesy smile on my face. So the moral of this is to put your warrior face on after you know who you are dealing with and at Dick hannah Kia if you work with Steve Davis you wont need any of that. Pros: Steve Davis more

A Great Deal and Great Service 11/19/2009

We bought our 2007 Sedona elsewhere but have been having it serviced at Dick Hannah Kia in Vancouver. Frankly, we've had a lot of problems with the vehicle. It broke down twice completely so that it had to be towed and at least 3 other times the check engine light required an urgency to bring it in. However, the amazing team at Dick Hannah Kia has even made all this worthwhile. Thinh Pham provides excellent customer service. He has attended to all the needs of this vehicle in detail. He is a very kind man and takes the time to return my calls, answer all my questions, and alleviate all my worries. He looks ahead letting me know what needs the car may have in the near future. I used to bring all my vehicles to Les Schwab for tire and brake service but Thinh has offered competitive prices for quality tires and brakes. Importantly, he often doesn't charge me for everything. I always leave there feeling like I just got a good deal! I have such confidence in the work done at Dick Hannah Kia and in the interest and care of staff I won't go anywhere else!! These people are incredible. They listen to your needs and act on them. They are simply the best when it comes to communication, from confirming an appointment through service and follow-up. And they stand behind their work. We own an 06 Sedona which we bought from another dealership. Once we found out about Dick Hannah Kia, we started having it serviced there and we're glad we did! Emir what a salesman!! 11/8/2009

I had a car accident recently and my car was totaled. I has purchased a car in 2002 from Dick Hannah, so I decided to go back and look for a car. I had bought a Kia and I really liked it. I had no problems with the car for 7 years (until the accident). My daughter and I went to Dick Hannah's and looked @ the Kia's. We were met by a salesman Emir Filipovic. What a nice young man. He was very kind and helpful (I might also add patient). I ended up buying a 2009 Kia Rio. I love it. Emir was very informative and new his cars. Our second vehicle purchase in 6 months~THANKS Don Martin 11/4/2009

This was our second vehicle purchase with Dick Hannah Kia and DON MARTN with in a six month period. He was notified of our interest when our banks car buying program notified DH Kia and Don Martin. Within minutes Don e-mailed back asking if there was anything he could do to assist us. I immediately called Don and let him know we were interested in an Optima, fully loaded and that we would love to drive out to see it. As always DON MARTIN took full interested in what we were looking for went out on the lot found what we wanted and called me back with all the vehicle information as well as that of a few others on the lot. Because this was our SECOND vehicle purchase in such a short amount of time DON MARTIN knew who we were as a family and what we needed in a vehicle. The vehicle he found was perfect expect for one, okay well four big expensive problems....the RIMS AND TIRES. They were a little “too much” for our taste, DON knew that and offered to speak with Rachel the GM about removing them and putting the original stock tires back on the OPTIMA we were interested in. He made sure I understood that he could make no promises about swapping tires, but he would see what he could do. We live out on the Northern Oregon Coast and have three boys, so driving 2 hours to look and possibly purchase a vehicle is no easy task. Don, my husband and I scheduled to meet first thing the next morning. Upon arriving at DH KIA DON MARTIN was outside awaiting our arrival and pleasantly greeted us with a hand shake and smile. He acknowledged our three boy and welcomed them back. We immediately went to look at the OPTIMA’s available on the lot. To my surprise the Optima we were interested in already had the “after market” tires removed and original stock tires put back on prior to arrival. Because there was not enough room for the entire family and DON MARTIN to test drive the vehicle DON was patient while my husband and I took turns test driving the OPTIMA. Although the OPTIMA we test drove was everything we wanted, we wanted to make sure that we had exhausted all our options by looking at “every” OPTIMA on the lot and we did and again DON MARTIN was very patient and kind. The decision was made, we wanted this OPTIMA for this price, with this trade in!!!! At first and as always the numbers did not match, DON MARTIN and Jon Pelley (sales manager) worked the numbers that we could all agree with. To top off an amazing car buying experience Don Martin graciously purchased an adorable little “purse key chain” with the KIA logo on it as well as a “manly” keychain for my husband. Within 4 hours we were driving away in our new KIA OPTIMA, presented to us on the “red carpet” outside the doors of the dealership!!! THANKS to DON and JON for all of your assistance in the purchase of our OPTIMA. We are truly pleased with our experience and are completely enjoying our new OPTIMA. Dick Hannah Kia is one of only a few dealers who even understand online auto purchasing. When I contact dealers to make a purchase, I already know the exact model I want, have my financing in place, and am interested in bottom line price only. I want no add-ons, no cross selling on financing, no hassles. For me, buying a car should be no more complicated than buying a pair of jeans...take it to the counter and check out. Since I have done all my homework prior, the only thing I am really shopping for by the time I contact the dealer is price and service with integrity. For my latest purchase (a 2009 Kia Rio) I had inquired at many dealers throughout the Portland area about a specific Rio I was interested in purchasing. I only contacted dealers which already had the model I wanted in stock. Half the dealers did not respond to my e-mail inquires or did so several days later. Not so with Dick Hannah Kia in Vancouver. Steve Davis responded to my inquiry within an hour of my sending it, giving me all the information I had requested, plus more! Over the next few days (and many e-mail exchanges) about options and price negotiations, I was always responded to in a timely manner. In the end, I purchased my Rio from Steve because he had the best customer service hands down! Arrival and departure at the dealer was just as I had requested; no hassles, no cross selling, no surprises. Drove 35 miles for the deal and would do it again in a heartbeat! If you are not a fan of the traditional showroom sales tactics, and prefer to buy your vehicle online, you owe it to yourself to contact Steve Davis. Poor Customer service and Deception 9/25/2009

I liked DH Kia overall but I basically bought my car off there site. I didn't like the fact that the car they advertised on the site was not the car I got. The car they advertised was a 2008 Chevy Aveo with AC and a MP3 jack in the stereo. I got home thought the AC was in the car but thought it didn't work correctly. Couldn't find where the MP3 jack was on the stereo either. I called DH Kia many times and the only offer I got was to return the car and get a different one. The issue I had with that is that what if I didn't like a different car or the one I liked would cost more. They already took my trade in so if I couldn't find a car that fit my terms like the Aveo I would be stuck with something worse. I called to speak with the General Manager of DH Kia and she NEVER returned my calls or answered the phone. I sent Rachel Smith an email about this issue and she replied that I was offered the opportunity to return the car and that the car I thought I was getting was a mistake by the 3rd party people they had post the ad on there site. Am I happy with the way the car drives? Yes, but I am not happy about the deception or the fact that they have not tried to fix this issue except to tell me they can add AC for over $2,000 LOL. I work 2 jobs now and have other workers who wanted to get a new car and I would have told them about Kia if that was issue was fixed but as of right now I am not happy with them and once the sale is complete good luck getting a hold of the GM to help fix any issue you have with the car. If they fix the issue I will gladly post an update here but until than I am not happy with there deception or effort and I would not suggest them to anyone. Would like to ad that when I bought the car and signed my paper work that they asked me if I wanted window sketching and I told them no. A few days later they have Mike Ragsdale come to my house with a new contract with the window sketching in it saying they found a way to save me a few more dollars but what they did was add the window sketching that I asked not to have that I will have to pay interest on. An oasis of integrity in car sales 8/19/2009

I had hoped my 8 year old Chevy nightmare would make it until spring. Unfortunately the cash ineligible clunker made it clear that wasn't a wise move. So I spent a hypertension inducing week visiting nearly every major dealership in the Portland Metro looking for a replacement. Let me tell you, looking for a bargain when dealers have visions of Cash for Clunkers dancing in their heads is useless. In frustration, I decided to broaden my search a bit, and visit some dealers to take an actual look at other vehicles, and see what might fit our needs other than my long-coveted Sienna. I wound up at Kia where Emir Filipovic did a great job learning about my requirements, showing me what was available, and we quickly zeroed in on a Sedona. We didn't come to terms that day, partly because I'd broken my own cardinal rule about going in prepared, partly because my job is to know what a good deal is and accept nothing less, theirs is to make the best profit possible. Doesn't matter whether you're talking Wall Street or Main Street, that's how sales works. I came back two days later, having done my research, and made my terms clear. My new offer was considerably lower than my initial impulse-driven terms. This is where this dealership shines. Most get very offended in situations like this (particularly when negotiating with women) and will let a fair deal walk out the door, or worse, insult you and argue, rather than just push pride aside and do the deal. Both Emir and Sales Manager John Pelley took the high road, made sure the deal was right on their side, and made it happen. They swallowed pretty bitter pill with more grace, class, and professionalism than I have EVER witnessed on a dealer floor (my dad was a GSM, I grew up in the business, so that's saying something). That, ladies and gentlemen is what I like to call integrity. There is precious little of it in this business. Without it, you are on your own, caveat emptor is the rule. They aren't going to hand you a cream-puff deal (nor should they, that's the buyers responsibility) but if you do your research, there is no better dealership in the Portland Metro. Once the deal was made, we were handed over to the capable hands of Jeff Salisbury, who made the endless piles of paperwork that buying a car requires a fast and entertaining process. The folks here will treat you with respect. After the week I've had, I can tell you that's hard to find. It's clear that integrity is an important value from the top down at this dealership, but they are human, just like the rest of us. If you happen to have an experience that you don't feel right about, ask to speak to the sales manager, tell them what's wrong, and ask for another salesperson. Sometimes it's an issue of fit, but the management here is top rate. Something as simple as working with a different salesperson may be what it takes, and is certainly a better choice than going to another dealer. As I said above, in Portland/Vancouver, you won't find a better dealer than you'll find here. Pros: Best customer service more

Experience the Thrill of Buying a KIA 5/18/2009

I hate buying cars and doing the negotiations, but something happened Sunday when my wife and I drove away in a new KIA Spectra 5. That something was Don Martin. I told Don I haven't had this much fun in a long time. He made the experience fun, and he was polite and helpful. So, before we left the lot, we asked Don if he thought we could do another deal on a KIA Spectra...... He came back and said yes. Most of Sunday was spent at D Hannah KIA, and yes we were tired and worn out but we were having a blast. My wife and I got out of the tired and worn out vehicles and rolled out in two brand new KIAs!!!! Thanks to Don and the rest of the staff for a good experience. Maybe a KIA Soul next year???? I love my new KIA Spectra. So if you want to experience the thrill of buying a new car as it should be, then go see Don Martin at Hannah KIA. I promise you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
