Changes Salon and Day Spa

When I go to a salon, i want to be relaxed, and pampered. Not stressed out. This place is a bundle of stress. There is no relaxing here at all. I left and was stressed to the max, I had to go take a hot bubble bath when i got home just to be unstressed. That is sad. I did not go to pay someone good money to stress me out even more. argh. I made an appointment off the first few reviews, and I did not read all them. Unfortunely if I would have keep reading, I would have never made an appointment. The bad reviews are true. And the review that says all the five star ones are done by employees is right one. Very sad, don't waste time or money here. Pros: nothing Cons: to crowded, and cramped. more

They would be fine if they were under an alternative medicine title. They are no longer a salon. When the focus is no longer hair and nails, then that pushes you into a different catagory. The hairstylist is not into her job at all. She just kind of pushes you in and out like cattle. I was not impressed at all, and I paid way to much money for what i recieved. I was very dissappointed. Hmm... It's strange that I had written a negative review the other day and it was somehow REMOVED from here. Once again, I will write what happened. Basically, this place was VERY high sales pressure, the girls working there were very rude... The nail area still had trash laying on the table from the previous client, obviously it not being cleaned after the client. The botique inside is too much, like they are money hungry to make money. The salon doesn't even look like a salon when you walk in, it looks like a flea market. I didn't like my haircut I recieved, the girl was too busy smacking her gum and talking on her cell phone while doing my hair. What's funny is that it is obvious that the EMPLOYEES wrote the 'good reviews' after they recieved a negative review to make their ranking higher. If anyone from the salon continues to delete my negative review (along with a few others that were there the other day) I will contact citysearch and continue to put the truth that you are trying to hide. DONT GO HERE, go somewhere that has friendly employees, no sales pressure and a business that can take all the positive and negative from people. I can't believe I never knew they existed! Changes is amazing! I get my hair, nails, waxing and massages there and I have never been happier! The staff is great and always in a good mood when I arrive, never any drama. They wear great uniforms and are not allowed to carry their cell phones so you don't feel like they aren't paying attention to you. Not one person takes a call while they are with me, which I have never had happen before. I really felt special. They have the cutest boutique that I love to look through when I go. All of the gifts that I have ever bought there have always been a big success and they have great prices and amazing sales! I have made several friends there..it is just that kind of place. This place is amazing! They are so friendly and professional, I really enjoyed my appointment. All of the staff was so friendly and really got along with each other, which is totally amazing in the salon industry! My pedicure and HairCut/Color were amazing and I have gotten so many compliments! My polish has lasted 4 weeks! All my friends are now clients for nails, sugaring and hair. It is such a quaint historic house that they have utilized the space well. All of the areas are divided and you feel very comfortable. The salon was busy the day that I was there, but not stressful. Everyone greeted me and offered me a varied choice of beverages, including wine. I am glad I have found my new home. I'm guessing that they will need bigger space soon, everyone I know loves them! The quality of their work is superb and they offer services no one else does! I can not express my disappointment in this salon/spa. It is not relaxing. It is too small. Its alittle house, with just about everything you can imagine squished into it. It's hot, and the employees herd you through like cattle. I will not be going back. They should be required to take the salon/spa off their name. Its more like a little weird clincial office, with curtains hanging everyway you look, with people working behind them with bizzare sciene fiction machines. Should be a scene in a weird B movie. I can think of a thousand other ways to spend my time, and money. Very high pressure sales, and the employees are all very fake. I was talking to one person about how I ended up in Texas, and she answered her cell phone, and told me to keep talking, she could do two things at once, and had a huge conversation on her cell phone. I did continue to talk, just for laughs I was saying, and the monkeys ate bannannas, and the dolphin walked over the bridge. She would say...uh hu.....and oh really, in between her phone call replys....How can anyone be so totally fake ? I was not even offered a water, or coffee. For the price I paid for that kind of service...i was appalled. Next time i want lousey, unattentive service, I will go to a chop shop. First of all the parking at this place was horrible. Second, I walked in and I felt like a sardine--- the entrance once you get inside is CLUTTERED with clothes for sale and petty overpriced decorations. (I noticed on a review for this salon that a possible "employee" wrote, ranting and raving on how cute the botique is and that "she" buys all her stuff from thereto go in her living room) When I was inside, I was squeezing in between racks of clothing to get to the front desk. The botique created a big cloud of sales pressure when I walked into the salon. You can't even tell this place is a salon, it looks like a store--not a salon. The salon/day spa itself has NO PRIVACY whatsoever for its guests. If you want to pay for a a massage behind a curtain with a stylist station 15 inches away, look no further. I got a haircut from this stylist and she was complaining to ME about her co workers. I am there to relax, not to listen to gossip. I saw a wierd machine behind a curtain and asked what it was and was told it was a weight loss machine (behind a curtain- no privacy) and the girl who did my hair was pressuring me to watch a video on this 'machine' after my cut . While I was paying for my haircut, a client was waiting for her stylist (who never showed up) and she was complaining that it was bad customer service for her STYLIST to stand her up. The young blonde girl who cut my hair should consider putting more efforts into looking nice when she goes to work. When I go to a salon, I expect to see the stylists with some style at least, not a ponytail pulled halfway through a rubberband like they would at home. My haircut wasn't worth the money at all. So when you see 1 star ratings (like this place deserves), and then two or three 5 star reviews one day after the bad one---take a hint that the employees of the salon are the ones writing 'wonderful' reviews to get a better rating. USE CAUTION AND DONT EVER GO TO THIS 'HAIR SHACK' Pros: when I left Cons: parking, sales pressure, no privacy, small place---- needs to be MUCH bigger... use that space from the retail shop to create a bigger SALON SERVICE area!!!!!! more

When my mom and I moved here from California we were SO SAD to leave our waxing lady! If you've moved you know how hard it can be to find someone to do all the little things you need done. We looked online and found Changes. The owner is so nice and she genuinely cares for her clients. I'm a bit of a spa snob and also worked in the industry for several years doing nails. The place is CLEAN and the staff takes care of you. I've read a few of the other reviews on this site and see that "high pressure" sales was mentioned several times. Uh, not true. That's all I have to say. Clean, friendly, professional, and cutting edge...that's what this spa is. Plain and simple. Changes Salon and Dayspa is an interesting place to visit... if your aim is a proper salon service, you might want to try another place (although the hair cuts can be very, very cute for a youger crowd). I wanted to do something nice for my mom this last week. She was having a rough time with work and I knew she needed a break. I called a couple of places in the area, but what do I know... I'm a guy! All of them sounded the same. That was until I found Changes Salon. From the time I called to make an appointment to the time my mom arrived the customer service was awesome. The lady on the phone was so friendly and took the time to answer all my "guy" questions. When my mom called me after her appointment, I could tell she was pleased. She said they waited on her hand and foot and made sure she had everything she needed and the services she received were the best shes had in a long time. She has requested that from now on anytime I want to do something nice, it needs to be a gift certificate to Changes. Thanks guys for making my mother feel special. I have been a client of this salon for 2 years and have always felt welcomed and appreciated. I never felt pressured to buy anything and have enjoyed every service I have had performed. This salon is fabulous! Every detail was paid attention to and my experience was great. I will recommend them to everyone I meet. The appointment was on time and the staff was all very friendly and actually got along with each other which I find to be a rarity in this business. The boutique was cute and having a great sale. Very high pressure sales. Cute stuff in there little store, BUT way expensive. The girl was running about 45 minutes late for me, which it was a saturday, so I alot for that, BUT she was lazy and slow when i finally got in there with her. I don' t like gossip or talking about people even if I don't know them. This girl was telling me everyone's business in the salon, and I could have cared less. Well, I went to get a haircut and color, and I was very surprised !!! Not only did I love my new do, I simply adored my stylist. Maggie is so funny, my service lasted 2&1/2 hours, and I pretty much laughed the whole time.I am fairly new to town and my job here,so I am meeting new people constantly, I look forward to recomending Maggie to all of my new friends and co-workers. I've gotten so many compliments on my hilites, color and cut, Thankyou Maggie..........I'll be Back, I think I'll get a facial next time too!!!
