This is the only place I ever call, because they are the only ones who ever show up on time! Every other cab place takes FOREVER, but at least Eastern comes when they say they will. more

This place is the best bang for your buck. We use them all the time for when family comes into town. And our family love it and thinks we spend a bunch of money, but we don't. :) more

I love eastern. I'd sent friends with them to the airport in the middle of the night many times, based on the fact that they always showed up on time and were the cheapest estimate. Then I recently took a trip to jfk myself. I called dispatch for a price quote (35 from crown heights to jfk, I was quoted 38 by everyone else) and then made my reservation online. I asked to be picked up at 345 am and to be called when the driver was 5 minutes away. I received an email with my drivers name and phone number, and a phone call at 3:40 on the dot. When I came down five minutes later, a friendly gentleman with a new, clean, hybrid car was waiting for me.\r \r Just a great experience from a service that has always been reliable for me. more

It was the night before a blizzard, and I had to get from NJ to NYC really early the next morning to go to work, so rather than attempting to clear snow from my car at 4:30 in the morning and driving in, I called Eastern to schedule a pickup. I was concerned about whether their drivers would be working given the forecast, but the dispatcher I spoke with didn't seem to think there would be any problems. I asked if someone would call me if they were unable to make it, but he assured me that they'd be there. So I got up early the next morning, bundled up and waded through knee-deep snow to the curb, where I proceeded to wait for half an hour in blisteringly cold winds for a car that never came. I tried calling several times to see what was going on, but the phone kept ringing, and no one answered. Highly unprofessional! It would seem that common courtesy would dictate that Eastern would call its customers to give them advance notice if scheduled pickups will not be able to be fulfilled. That way, I would have made other arrangements to get to work. At the very least -- there should be a voicemail for callers and a notice on Eastern's website notifying people that all trips are canceled due to inclement weather. How was I supposed to know?? I will not be using Eastern again, and I'll advise everyone I know to avoid it as well. more

As the Seinfelf Show so appropriately told us, its not the taking of the reservation but the holding of the reservation that counts.\r \r I was visiting my son in the South Bronx where regular taxi service is not avialable so I reserved a car from these yahoos to go to the airport. They insisted that I give them a VISA number so they wouldn't get stuck. The car was due at 4:30 and at 4:35 I called and was told car 47 was "on its way". We called 6 more times only to be put on hold. They then either hung up on us or just never picked the line back up. Finally, when we got quite rude with them (I guess is rudeness is what gets it done with these people so try it right away) and insisted they tell us what was going on, they said the couldn't raise the driver on the radio and they guessed he wasn't coming.\r \r I ended up having to take a gypsy cab in a bad neighborhood. I was visiting the South Bronx and was told it would be hard to get a cab so I should get a car service. Called these people at 10:00 in the morning for a 4:30 pickup. Had to give them a visa number ""just in case"". Seemed competent at this point. Cons: Did not show up more

The driver showed up to my door on time, but took the WORST POSSIBLE ROUTE to the airport. He was nice enough, but a 30 minute ride took an hour and forty five minutes. I missed my flight. When I asked the manager to reimburse me the $50 ticket change fee, he refused, saying his driver's error was not their problem. I gave myself plenty of time to get to the airport, yet the manager blamed me for not allowing another hour to get there (!!) I travel a lot for my work and have never had any problems thus far with giving myself 2 hours time to get to JFK, not even during rush hour. However, because of Eastern, I was stranded for four hours in JFK with an infant, and the car service refused to take responsibility. Also, I requested an infant car seat and the one they showed up with was absolutely filthy. I will never use them again. I hear Legends is a good service. I will try them next. I called them at 12:09am on Sunday, May 18 to get a car from Canarsie to Manhattan in the morning. When I said I was in Canarsie, the guy mumbled something under his breath and hung up on me. Pros: Who knows Cons: The dispatcher hung up on me. more

I was in a rush to get somewhere and Eastern was the only car service that actually picked up when I called. I mean I try calling all the car services, that are like 5 minutes away from my house but like always they never pick up and if they do they always put me on hold. So i called Eastern Car Service, mind this I never used them before and I can say today that they are the best in Brooklyn. No lie. The dispatcher was nice and said a car would be in less then 10 minutes and I told him, he better not be lying like every other car service company in Brooklyn. But to my surprise they were at the front 5 minutes after I called. I was shocked and happy. The driver was nice and estimated the time of arrival which was great because at the end I was where I needed to be on time. If it wasn't for Eastern I would probably never have gotten there on time. My boy recommend Eastern to me and when I called the peeps there were great. They had a car at my cribz within 10 minutes. The driver was cool wasn't rude like many other cabs that I have called. The driver played good music throughout the ride and at the end the fare wasn't even expensive. Now they are the one Car Service I use and I'll recommend to anyone who needs a cab. Eastern is the best car service i have used, and I have used many. The dispatcher was nice and polite and said he would send me a car, that it wouldn't take any longer then 10 minutes. The cab was out in 6 minutes. Pros: Prices are the best Brooklyn more

I was supprised while browsing the web that there were several negative reviews about my favorite car service. I have lived in park slope right by prospect ave for over 10 years now and have always used eastern. they aren't the flashiest car service around but they have always been up to par for me. I have used them to transport my belongings and to take my pet to the vet. I can't remember once when i was disappointed with their service. I mean, maybe some people ask for too much or are use to being pampered all the time, but Eastern Car service has been the best car service in park slope for years. I recommend them to anyone. Called them for a friend going local in PS - was told 5 minutes and was more like 15 but that's not unusual but when the driver got there my friend told him the address and he just sat there and didn't say anything. She called me from the back of the car and was telling me how creeped out she was since he was just idling and not speaking to her. I heard her repeat the destination to him and when she was sufficiently scared and tried to get out, she couldn't (door was locked from up front). I was looking out the window and told her to get out of the car and come back in so I guess he caught on, got out of the car and opened the door from the outside. She ran off and he drove off - sketchy and scary. Any single women should avoid. Cons: troubled driver, inaccurate times more

After discussing with the dispatch office twice about where I lived, the car never showed and when I called back a third time fo find out where the car was, the dispatcher accussed me of giving the wrong cross streets and that they had no more cars available. Cons: Incompetent and dishonest dispatchers more

It may be cool for within Park Slope service but to the airport.....DONT USE IT. My driver drove slower than any car on the BQE, and dropped me off at the wrong terminal. I was within 1 minute of missing my flight. Plus I live less than a block away from their headquarters, and it took them 20 minutes to pick me up! And, refused to answer the phone when I called back the 3rd time. My roommate checked, and saw a whole fleet of cars and ""drivers"" just hanging out doing NOTHING but chatting while I was waiting! Pros: Uhm...unless they don't know what A/C is on a HOT day, then I guess no A/C is not a pro Cons: Stupid awful driver.....didn't know where to go. I HAD TO GIVE THE DRIVER DIRECTIONS more
