I had a haircut, highlights and waxing done, and I was out in less than two hours. I was surprised. For the quality of the service and the way the salon looked, I expected to pay more, but I was pleasantly surprised again. Pros: Good prices, good quality, evening openings. Put my face in heaven 11/29/2007

I just had a facial from Jennifer last evening and my husband said it was the first time I came home from being out and didn't crab at him. Ha. It relieved so much stress and my skin looks great too. Pros: Great facial. Nice atmosphere. Cons: Not a super quiet setting like other spas, but it was still good. more

Nice retreat for a busy girl 11/29/2007

I had my highlights done by Andreanna (i think that's how you spell it), and I loved the results. I also didn't pay nearly as much as I thought I would. For a fancy full service place I would have expected to pay a lot more. Pros: Great value for the work done. Nice staff. Cons: Can't really think of any, though it would be nice to have complimentary hand massages or something. more

Damn good men's haircut. 11/29/2007

I have tried so many places in the city, but nobody can do a decent men's haircut. My girlfriend goes to Brilli and said I should try it. My stylist, Jana, asked me a few questions, showed me a picture from a magazine of a guy's head, then gave me exactly what I wanted. My girlfriend is glad too, because she was tired of looking at my shabby head. Pros: Not too girly. Great cut. Cons: Tight parking on a Friday afternoon. more

She should have been a used-car salesman 10/28/2007

I went to Brilli for the first time last week for a cut, highlight and gloss. My color looks fantastic, but Pamela took off far more hair--like three inches-- than I asked for. It looks fine, but is not at all what I asked for. On top of that, she tried to sell me everything in the store! Seriously, I am already spending an obscene amount of money on my hair, I am not going to buy shampoo, conditioner, product and a blowdryer(!) as well. Regardless of the too short hair cut, I may have gone back but for the constant up-selling. It was obnoxious. Ironically, I did need some product but refused to buy it from her because she was so pushy. Pros: great color Cons: didn't listen to me, tried to sell anything and everything she could think of more

Pushers Pushers Pushers! 9/11/2007

Great style & cut, but I was hounded to buy their products, and they just wouldnt stop! My stylist pushed several different Bumble & Bumble products, each time I said no, she went on to the next, pushing & pushing. I just like to get my hair styled at a place without having to keep one hand on my wallet. I tried the Nancy Reagan ""Just Say No"", but it was relentless. They must get salon financing thru Bumble & Bumble. I won't go back, for fear of being hounded like a pack of wolves again. Pros: Great cut & style Cons: Too focused on selling their hair care products more

Where to go to feel like a Princess 6/11/2007

From the second I walked in for my 10:00 a.m. appointment, I was treated very well. I was greeted by a friendly staff who offered me my choice of refreshing beverage. The entire staff is personable and cheery...no brooding artists here. I was attended to by 2 staff members (a seasoned stylist/owner and her very capable assistant that she was training, with my prior permission of course). Both women were very concerned that I get exactly what I wanted and were not interested in forcing their opinions on me (something I have experienced many times in other salons). The final result is great. I must admit I look fabulous. These women really know color. I would like to highly recommend Brilli Salon, you will leave feeling like a princess. best bikini work! 5/21/2007

I've been getting waxed for a while now and i have to say they do a great job hear! the staff is very friendly and tiffany who does my waxing knows a lot about skin care and helps me to avoid ingrown's etc... from waxing. She also takes her time to give a great shape and I love that she uses hard wax! Prices are reasonable (about the same at any upscale professional salon) Parking is kind of a pain- early am appointments are easier to find spots, other wise its not a far walk from the brown line- or the Ashland or Lincoln buss. more

Love my color 5/10/2007

After going to 3 salons in the city in a year, I was finally recommended to Jana at Brilli. Not only did she take 15 minutes to listen to what I really wanted, she made me the most beautiful blonde I have ever been. She was fun, easy going and affordable for the service. I highly recommend her for beautiful color. Pros: great color more

My experience is shared from miles away. I am a loyal, appreciative Brilli Salon customer. I fly from Los Angeles to have my hair cut and colored. A gycolic peel -- to keep my skin reinvigorated. I stock up on products -- recommended by the salon --- Surely. For many years I have been in the hands... (literally) of owner and stylist, Brenda. When you walk in you are greeted by great music, and the very best intentions. a great haircut -- wax, glycolic peel... make-up... deep conditioning... highlights... pure color... a healthy cut -- and time with who's hands you are in .... which is as much fun as the hair job! Browse through jewelery... candles... hair accessories and a great collection of proven, intoxicating products. Everyone at Brilli is there because they believe in the power of what they do --- along with friendship, community, loyalty and making people feel great. The here and now, is a fantastic experience. If you can afford it, you will truly have a great time. Pros: talented staff in beautiful environment Cons: I wish there was a Brilli Salon in Los Angeles!!! more

the salon is very comfortable. the owner brenda is fabulous and easy to talk to and shes excellent at cutting hair and really great with highlights. the style is cutting edge but not at all intimidating. i'd give it a 10. more

Andreana is amazing!!! 4/5/2007

Im not one to write reviews, but I felt inclined to do so when I read a recent review bashing Andreana. I have been going to Andreana for three years and feel beautiful everytime I leave her salon. She is not only an amazingly talented stylist, she makes for great conversation when you are in her chair. She is always keeping ME up on the latest trends which is a bonus everytime I'm there. If you are looking to go blonde, she is by far, the best colorist in the city ....not failing to mention her cutting abilities. Her great personality and style are contagious! very smooth brazilian bikini wax! 4/2/2007

Tiffany is awesome. have gotten a great Brazilian from her 2 x's now and she does a great job! (none of that ripped out broken hairs) she is very gentle and works fast. in and out and done. Thanks for keeping my lady business pretty! Pros: really good work, parking on street Cons: little hi-priced, but worth it! more

After reading many of the reviews on citysearch, I was sure I'd leave with a great new haircut. I honestly could have saved a lot of cash and gotten the same exact result from great clips. HUGE disappointment - I will not be returning. more

pushy sales, cold water on my head in the winter! tacky decor, the worst color 3/11/2007

I went into Brilli with high expectations, yet I was quickly dissapointed. The space is small and chaotic, not relaxing at all. I felt like my stylist barely listened to a word I said. Next thing I know I was getting heckled to buy all these products (way overpriced) my haircolor was less than ordinary, and the highlights looked chunky and outdated. The woman who did my hair seemed very distracted, and kept leaving the chair in the middle of my haircut. To top it off there was no hot water when my hair got washed. This salon is definitely not worth the hype. I do not recommend this salon to anyone, unless they want bad dye job. more

Outstanding service every time I have been. 1/20/2007

I am very suprised to see people having such bad things to say. I have been going to Brilli since they opened, I guess about a year ago. I had seen the girls before the left to work for Brilli and I certainly had no intentions of switching! I have always felt that anyone I have seen at Brilli (usually Adreana or Pamela) usually exceeds my expectations. I feel compelled to add that if it werent for Pamela doing my hair and Danielle doing my makeup for my wedding my wedding photos would have been worthless. Original, snobs and overpriced 1/17/2007

Of course the girls that work at Brilli and their friends wrote all the good reviews, anyone who visits there would know that. I found the experience shabby myself, small, definitely cold and the girls there weren't warm at all. Aside from their snobbiness, the color I had done to my hair was fair, but who can't do hair. This was place was overpriced for what you get... I'll stick with my regular salon where the treatment is outstanding from the moment you walk into the door to the moment you walk out. Not worth the $$ 1/11/2007

I did a kit if research before deciding on Brilli Salon, another rating website has negative things to say about this place, but everyone here seemed to be very praising. It now appears that I should have listened to the other site, as everyone who wrote these reviews clearly works at Brilli Salon, or knows someone there. The spave is kinda cute, but it was very cold, and sort of tacky looking. In my opinion, there was not enough ammenities for the prices they charge. Also, it was cold, and I had to ask for something to drink (I choose hot tea to warm up!) The chandelier was nice, but the rest of the space looks displaced. I guess I was just looking for an overall ""experience"" and just didn't get it. I will not be going back. Pros: next to wholefoods Cons: cold, prices more

Go see Andreana at Brilli. I followed her from Salon Blue and have yet to be disappointed with her cuts. I love my hair when I walk out, but I like it even more as time wears on. She's great! more
