Great hair dresser 3/10/2009

So i just moved from New York last July, and as all of us ladies know it is like finding a needle in a hay stack when it comes to finding the a good hair dresser let alone someone who you love.it took me 4 months and multiple bad experiences here in chicago to find the perfect hair dresser... Pamela at Brilli Salon! Not only was she wonderful to talk to and hang out with but she did a fantastic job with my color and cut.. she made sure she accomplished my view. She is such a sweet, bubbly person and i look forward to going there because i have no worries about my hair and i know i'm going to have a good time. She is someone to go and she.. especially when your hair gets blotched by another hair dresser.. Thank you Pamela! more

It is Unfortunate 2/19/2009

It is unfortunate that an insecure Salon Owner from a certain tasteless wicker park Salon would write such a false and unfounded review about a past employee just because she feels the need to burn others. Also, if anyone has ever been to this salon, they can tell you that every single individual that works in this Salon, knows the meaning of great service and understand the value of respect, trust and honesty. Again, i find it sad and pitiful that this certain Salon owner would subject someone to false reviews just to make themselves feel better for their own mistakes!!!!! LAME!!!! more

Great service! Parking! Well priced! 2/18/2009

I followed my stylist to Brilli and was pleased to find a clean, professional, plesantly staffed salon with good ambiance and a great product line. Sanjoy worked wonders with my hair color and I enjoyed my salon time without blaring music or staff drama to contend with. The beautiful jewlery on sale sealed the deal- I'm looking forward to my next visit! more

False Advertising 2/8/2009

I had my first experience after reading the ads..I unfortunetely had a really bad haircut by a newer stylist at this salon. To my surprise this man obviously doesn't care what reputation he leaves this salon with as I heard he is opening his own salon in the near future. I just wish it wasn't taken out on my head!!! more

Love Love Love my new color! 2/2/2009

Pamela worked miracles on my hair, I am in love with my new color and highlights! I went in for a color correction, and she not only saved my hair but also made it look better then ever..... couldn't recommend her enough. Pros: Know their stuff... Cons: None! more

Favorite Chicago salon...And I've tried PLENTY! 11/16/2008

I found Brilli on a Daily Candy posting for a curling iron class they were offering. I had been going to another Chicago salon for years but I went to the class, learned some fun curl techniques, and met Pamela. I have had blonde hair my entire life and was really wanting to ""go dark,"" but didn't have the guts! She encouraged me to give it a try, and I booked my appointment. That was nearly 2 years ago! I LOVE Pamela. Of all the colorists at all the chic Chicago salons I've ever been to, NOBODY has ever given me exactly what I wanted, every single time. She is amazing with color...I always try new things and every time I bring a picture, I walk out looking exactly like I hoped I would. No surprises! Pros: Talented, friendly staff in non-pretentious atmosphere. Plenty of meters out front. Cons: NONE! more

Great salon with talented stylists 11/15/2008

I found this salon through craigslist, in an ad they had for hair models. I saw one for a bob, which was the cut I had been wanting to get, and found out that I could get that cut for free by an apprentice stylist and get all-over color for a product charge of $25. Now, for starters, I've had long hair for about 2 years, to about the middle of my back, but I've been dying to get a cute, stylish cut for some time. Seeing as how I'm a graduate student though, I don't quite have the money for a trendy salon and a good cut. This worked out wonderfully to my advantage because my stylist, Jag, was awesome (she'd graduated from the Aveda Institute and had been training at the salon for about a year). My cut, which was done by Jag and supervised by Brenda, turned out beautiful and I have been receiving compliments since I got it done. The only downside to my experience was perhaps the fact that the color I was having done (red) didn't quite turn out as bright as I had wanted, but I still like it. The salon has a definite 'feel' to it that does resemble a style lounge...I especially like the little room where you sit under the heat for your color, very neat! So, while I probably could not afford to come here if I was not a hair model, I think it's a great salon with talented and caring stylists who will do their best to make your hair how you want it. :) Pros: good products, ambience Cons: would have been expensive had I not been a hair model more

Best Experience EVER 11/15/2008

I recently moved to the city and was searching for a good salon I THANKFULLY found Sarah at Brilli...she did an AMAZING job with my hair. I got a cut and color and she did a fabulous job with my highlights. She really listened to what I wanted. I have never been so happy leaving a salon. I would recommend her to anyone! She made the whole experience great and made me look amazing!! more

Brilli Salon (Pamela) to the rescue! 11/14/2008

I ended up crying in the entrance to Brilli salon after a terrible cut and color at Milio's on Belmont. I just happened to be passing by on my way home, and thankfully, Pamela made time to help me out. Little did I know, Pamela would turn out to be the best stylist I think I've ever had. I felt so welcome there, and while Pamela gave me a new cut, the other girls in the salon all sat with me and seemed to be on a mission to make me feel better - they are all so sweet at Brilli. The great thing about Pamela, is that she is CREATIVE and is INSPIRED by your hair - so she has IDEAS, in case you don't. I think Pamela is extremely talented. That night, she gave me a whole new cut, which was amazing. I just went back to get some highlights that she thought would look really great, and of course, they do! I highly recommend Brilli salon. And I am really thankful I finally found an amazing stylist. more

Fabulous Highlights Every Time with Pamela! 11/6/2008

Pamela is a master of hair and does beautiful highlights every time! She can cut color and style your hair to where you leave looking and feeling like a movie star! I highly recommend Pamela! more

Great Hairstylist 10/26/2008

I really appreciate the skill of my hairstylist. Pamela has been cutting my hair for many years. She was at another location and decided to join Brenda at Brilli. I now go to Brilli since I would not think of having another person cut my hair. Pamela is talented, efficient, and a very nice person. It is very easy to schedule an appointment through their website. I have absolutely no compliants. more

Cosmina does the best blonde in Chicago!!! 7/31/2008

Although you never know if these types of reviews are staged or real, I promise, hand-over-heart, that this one is the truth. I am a very particular blonde that hates to admit that I am particular. Every time I get my hair colored by a new stylist, I am nervous until the end. I have been a client of Brilli's for three years and needed desperately to have my highlights done. Much to my dismay my stylist, Brenda, was not available on such late notice. I had no choice but to get my hair done but Cosmina and boy oh boy was I nervous. Well, the nerves proved to be completely unnecessary. I have to admit, I was shocked. My highlights have NEVER looked so good. Her attention to detail, her ability to listen and translate it in to action was beyond perfect. I am officially a COSMINA CONVERT!!!! Thanks for making me feel beautiful!!! I will be back. Pros: Super Friendly Cons: N/A more

Unfortunate 6/23/2008

I have been going to Andreana for over 4 years and she has just left Brilli to go to Avieve Salon. The only reason to go to Brilli, in my opinion, is for the great cut and color she did every time I was in. I will be following her to her new salon and I recommend anyone looking for the best stylist to request Andreana when booking at Avieve. After numerous phone calls trying to persuade me to go to another stylist at Brilli I hope they finally understand that Andreana is the reason I went there!!!! Oh well, I think she is great and just wanted to let people know where she is at :) more

Perfect Place!! 6/20/2008

I just moved into the city and was looking for a great place to get my hair done. I'm pretty particular when it comes to cut and color, so it's a BIG risk for me to go somewhere new. I have to admit, I had a GREAT experience at Brilli Salon. Not only did Pamela want to know about my likes, dislikes she really took the time to get to know me so she could give me the perfect cut / color. I am extremely happy with my results and plan to go back here from now on!!! more

A stylist I can trust. 5/10/2008

I moved here from Manhattan about 6 months ago. I had a hair disaster when I first moved to Chicago and have been letting the color grow out. A friend recommended Brenda at Brilli to fix my botched color. She made it look great, and it feels healthy again. I'm so glad I was able to find someone I can trust. Pros: Brenda knows her stuff, friendly staff. Cons: parking more

Painless Brazilian! 5/2/2008

Pros: Location, great staff, painless waxing! more

waxing 4/28/2008

This place is really cute and all and the people are really nice, I went to get my eyebrows waxed and I everything was going well and this girl was being super careful and everything and it was almost painless. You are probably thinking it was a great experience, well it was, if it wasn't for the fact that I came out of there with my eyelids RUINED! this was thursday morning and it's monday and still have scabs on my eyelids, at first it just looked like somebody punched me bc it was all purple but now my skin feels dry and it looks awful, I couldn't even put aloe because anything that touched it burned my skin and was just too painful. more

Not worth the price 3/10/2008

Because this salon was reviewed so highly, I tried it out expecting a great cut. I ended up spending $200 for highlights and a cut that was average (nothing that should have cost $70) because the stylist used up my allotted time trying to fix the color she mixed that turned my hair ash colored. And then complained because I had brought a friend to help me determine a style. She was also argumentative when I said that ""ash"" was not my normal hair color. The attitude was terrible and the salon over priced. Pros: products, look of salon Cons: bad attitude, haircut not above average, colorist not knowledgeable more

Worst Haircut ever... :..( 3/5/2008

Guess I should've known that all the favorable reviews were written by friends or payed employees. I left this place feeling ripped off and dissapointed. The woman who cut my hair was pushy with everything, she talked a good game, but didn't really deliver- talked about this new haircut,(poorly executed) and these ""fabulous products""(which left my hair a goopy mess). Please, if your looking for a great haircut without the ""snake oil"" treatment go somewhere else. Now, I have to grow out this choppy mess of a haircut before I can even get it fixed!! Worst of all I bought a bunch of products and I don't even know how to use them, that's what I get for spending so much $$$ in such a short amount of time- half hour, what a joke! Cons: bad haircuts, pushy sales tactics more

Like to be overcharged? 2/14/2008

I'm okay with expensive haircuts. I figure quality comes with the price but when I'm charged nearly *$80* dollars for a 25 minute men's haircut it better be good. I'll admit.. it was good. Pros: Decent haircuts. Cons: Premium price doesn't mean you're a premium salon more
