Since B&H return policy doesn't cover shipment of items being returned, I walked to the Customer Service office from work at lunch time for 20 mins in the freezing cold. It was precisely 12:59pm when I was standing behind the glass door knocking on it and looking at the representatives and 1 last customer. They didn't bother to even look at me - needless to say they did NOT open the door. As it turned out, they close at 1pm on Fridays. I respect religious traditions, but 1). The customer care representative who I talked on the phone and asked if I could make my return at the store did NOT mention anything about short day schedule on Fridays! 2). It was 12:59! 3). A seller THIS big located in the busy NYC should have a standard business schedule to avoid 'surprises' to its valued (?) customers! 4). B&H prices and return policy are NOT that great to treat customers like that! It was so cold outside they could've let 1 last customer in before they close. It was NOT past 1pm yet! I doubt I will ever shop at B&H again. more

This is a must come store for all your camera needs regardless if your are a novice or a professional. Prices are the best in the city and they always have the newest products first!! Only issue is that it's so big and so packed with people that you might lose yourself in there. Pros: Great staff, Superb prices Cons: it's like a big maze with so many people entering the store more

I have bought several cameras and accessories at B&H over the years. I also bought a 6-disc DVD player several years ago. The staff at B&H, especially in the photo area where I've spent the most time, are just amazing. They can really give you good advice, and not one size fits all. When I was upgrading to a DSLR, I didn't want to spend a fortune, so the sales guy told me what to buy new, vs. what I could buy from their secondhand department to save money. Recently, a Canon camera that I'd bought had a problem. I knew it was still under factory warranty but could not find the receipt, which Canon requires. I called B&H and they looked up my purchases using my phone number, and within about 3 minutes had sent me a PDF by email of my receipt, which I could print and send in to Canon with the camera! Now that is great service. Pros: knowledgable staff, great prices Cons: it's a zoo inside more

I purchased my flatscreen TV from the B&H website. The TV itself is incredible and I love it, but the experience of buying it was one of the worst I've ever had. The site advertised a "white glove installation service," which I paid extra for, but on the day of delivery, the deliveryman told me he would only do an installation if I gave him some cash. Like a fool, I gave him $20. He said he had to get tools from his car, left my apartment, and then never came back. When I called B&H, the rep I spoke with was very rude and said I had misunderstood the terms of the delivery (their description on the site was completely misleading), and that the deliveryman himself was in no way affiliated with the company and they would not track him down or give me any sort of refund.
