Calling Alamo Door was one of the best calls I've made for help. First, I read their BBB rating, called another good firm first but decided to use Alamo after talking with the young lady on the phone. She provided a quote, was friendly and did not pressure me to use them. In the end, the cost was less than quoted after the technician evaluated my problem. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes and gave me several tips on what I could do to keep my garage door humming. I've posted their telephone number next to my opener button and have already told one member of my family to call them for a door problem. They are cost competitive and caring with great service. My door is 45 years old. It had damaged/worn rollers that caused cable to come off. Alamo gave me a time window of 10:00AM to 12:PM. They were here at 10:30AM. The work was completed in about 45 Minutes. New rollers were installed cable reinstalled and track adjusted. It has not worked this good in years. I would recommend to friends and neighbors. more

Alamo Door & Awning were satisfactory in repairing my garage door, but I had two hang ups that prevent me from giving them a positive review. The first was timing. They set me up with a two hour window for the appointment, from 10am to noon. By about twenty minutes after noon, they still hadn't arrived, and I hand't received a phone call. I chose to call them myself, and they said the repairman was on his way. Well, it took another half-hour for him to actually show up, so in the end he was an hour past the two hour window. Secondly--and I admit that I haven't compared prices--I found the bill to be too expensive for the actual work that was done. When the repairman did arrive, he had to confirm the problem for me, so there was no initial estimate. He ended up having to change out the rollers, and for this I was charged a fee for the service visit, a fee for parts, and finally a fee for labor. Now, I'm not used to this type of work, but the price definitely seemed high. I'm confident that the work itself was done properly, and the woman who made my appointment was very nice and professional, but the rest of the experience did not please me. A simple phone call letting me know they were running late certainly would have helped. I will not be using Alamo again. more

Alamo Door & Awning was just really nice and polite. That's why we've always used them. When we call and tell them we have an emergency, they get out here and they take care of it. We just always have used them because of that. more

The people at Alamo Door & Awning were very friendly and helpful. They made things easy! I searched for them on my iPhone. Our garage door opener had been knocked out by a power surge and they had to replace a part. They said it would be cheaper to replace the whole thing, and they did it quickly. When my husband and I couldn't get the garage door opened, we called Alamo at 7:30AM, before they had even entered they office. They answered the phone from home and made us an appointment for that day. They showed up later, on time, with everything they needed to get the job done. The serviceman was quick, efficient, and extremely helpful. He went the extra mile by providing some customer education on garage door maintenance. We've had garage door issues in the past, and others would simply fix the problem and go on their merry way. You can expect more from Alamo. They got the job done very much to our satisfaction. The price was just what I expected it to be. The serviceman was very knowledgeable, cleaned up after himself, and left my husband with a maintenance kit.
