Review content:
Alamo Door & Awning were satisfactory in repairing my garage door, but I had two hang ups that prevent me from giving them a positive review. The first was timing. They set me up with a two hour window for the appointment, from 10am to noon. By about twenty minutes after noon, they still hadn't arrived, and I hand't received a phone call. I chose to call them myself, and they said the repairman was on his way. Well, it took another half-hour for him to actually show up, so in the end he was an hour past the two hour window.
Secondly--and I admit that I haven't compared prices--I found the bill to be too expensive for the actual work that was done. When the repairman did arrive, he had to confirm the problem for me, so there was no initial estimate. He ended up having to change out the rollers, and for this I was charged a fee for the service visit, a fee for parts, and finally a fee for labor. Now, I'm not used to this type of work, but the price definitely seemed high.
I'm confident that the work itself was done properly, and the woman who made my appointment was very nice and professional, but the rest of the experience did not please me. A simple phone call letting me know they were running late certainly would have helped. I will not be using Alamo again.
