Review content:
What a bust!\r \r Do people actually go to this place?\r \r I have had plenty of very good dining experiences on City Island, and decided to try Sammy's during the off season.\r \r Do people go here because parking is convenient and it's easy to get a seat? I can't see why else you would.\r \r The service, while not terrible, was not very helpful. Our waiter could not answer many of the questions we had (are the chicken fingers real chicken or grounded, do you have Guinness). There was a language barrier.\r \r We were seated right away, which was nice...until we sat.\r \r The seats dip down like you're in a bucket seat of a nascar. I could not have been further away from the person across from me, which means we had to talk loudly. \r \r The seats are also very flimsy. The person seated in the booth behind me was drunk and moving around--making it feel similar to an earthquake. \r \r Drinks were next: Waiter said there was no sparking wine, so we went with Pinot Grigio (which we later found out was $9 dollars a glass and tasted awful).\r \r I don't mind spending $9 dollars a glass, but not for some awful place in the Bronx. \r \r I ordered a guinness, and was served a guinness extra stout. No biggie, I don't mind extra stout, but for someone who does, a heads-up would be nice.\r \r Soup was next. I went to City Island primarily for my hankering for lobster bisque. What I got was puzzling: A big bowl of what tasted and looked like velveeta chese, without much of a hint of lobster to be found.\r \r From that point on, the meal was pretty much ruined.\r \r The clams were O.K.\r \r The bill did not help matters. We came in just after 3 and they would not make anything off of the lunch menu, which makes a seafood dinner menu tough for kids and land-lovers. No sandwiches at all would be made, but they conveniently said they would do chicken fingers and fries.\r \r The chicken fingers and fries came out 20 dollars! Without telling us the price before hand or having it on the menu.\r \r Worst meal I've ever had. No doubt about it. STAY AWAY!
