I was not expecting a lot when we booked this, quite frankly, but our daughter-in-law wanted to go up to New England to see the changing colors of leaves. This resort was the closest I could find to where we wanted to go, Massachusetts. Our son and daughter-in-law flew in to Boston for a couple days alone, and we had a couple days alone in Rhode Island at the resort before driving up to get them so they could join us.
Everyone at the resort was so nice and helpful. The room was wonderful with a great view of the wharf that was breathtaking to wake up to and have breakfast by. We had a kitchen with everything except an oven, so we saved money by eating breakfast and some lunches and dinners there. It's walking distance of 150 shops, plus there are lots of mansions on the island to tour, a lighthouse, and Fort Adams. We took a day to drive over to Shenandoah Falls, Mass. and found it to be a charming town with a beautiful Bridge of Flowers. Leaves of various colors made it a lovely drive, stopping along the way for coffee and to explore local shops.
Our vacation turned out to be marvelous and we enjoyed the resort so much. They have a workout room, indoor/outdoor pool, DVD rentals, laundry facilities, and they booked tours for us. It was beautiful and I highly recommend it.

My husband and I drove up from Jekyll Island to the next little town, Darien, and decided to eat at Mudcat Charlie's just south of town. It's on the water and it was interesting looking at the boats, but that's about all. Everyone had recommended this place, but I did not fall in love with it. Food was fair, my husband's shrimp being the best. I ordered stuffed flounder and was not impressed - too fish tasting. Their slaw is different - it's dry with dressing on the side. I prefer it already mixed so the cabbage isn't so-o-o crisp, but my husband said it was pretty good to him.
Maybe at night the place gets lively and we were there at 4 p.m. on a Sat. and it was pretty slow. All in all, I probably don't want to return any time soon.

Recently, on a visit to Savannah, we went to the Olde Pink House for dinner. It faces Reynolds Square in downtown Savannah and you really need reservations, but it's worth a wait for a table. They have an interesting old bar down in the basement which you can visit while you wait.
The place is really old. It began in 1771 when it was called Habersham House, built on land that was granted by the crown of England. James Habersham lived there and was a wealthy planter who held secret meetings regarding the independence of the 13 colonies from England. Later the house was painted pink and became the first bank in Georgia.
So the restaurant is filled with history, plus, they say, ghosts. As we dined by the fireplace we had a couple of experiences which we credited to the presence of ghosts, which added to the fun of the evening. And the food was magnificent and beautifully presented. We had beef tenderloin and it melted in the mouth. I highly recommend this restaurant for an elegant dining experience.

When we moved to this area, I was nervous about looking for a vet for my little dog. I asked for recommendations and was told Golden Isles was not only good, but more reasonably priced than some others, so I went for a visit.
They were very friendly and offered to show me around. I received a tour and talked with the young woman who was in charge of taking care of pets being boarded. Since we have 2 week-long trips planned, I especially wanted to check this out, and I was extremely pleased with what I observed.
I made an appointment for a checkup the next month and my little dog received her exam and vaccines, then one of the employees took her for a walk outside so the doctor could thoroughly explain her health and give advice. I was impressed at how caring they were and am thrilled to have found a good place to care for my pet.

I've been a Home Depot customer a long time, but was disappointed in the customer service at this location. I had to ask for help and the person couldn't help me and called for someone else, who obviously was irritated at having been taken away from what she was doing. I've been in several times and each time I've left the store shaking my head at the poor attitude of the employees. I'm not sure what the problem is, but they need to work on the attitudes.

I realize a lot of people think Walmart runs the little out of business, but I've always loved shopping there because of the great prices. That is, until I moved to Georgia and went to the one in Brunswick, GA. The customer service is so bad that if my husband calls home and I'm grouchy he asks if I've been to Walmart! The employees don't care if you buy from them or not and they are not eager to help you. I stood in line yesterday while I watched the cashier cash a check for another employee, while several waited in line, and they giggled and danced and had a party - in no hurry at all. She was unable to count the money correctly because she was so tickled. I have a similar experience every visit and have even written to the manager I was so disgusted with the lack of care the employees have. I just wish I didn't have to shop there, but the prices are so good, I know I'll end up returning.

What a delightful restaurant with the best crab cakes I've ever eaten! They begin with a basket of homemade breads that are really good, then serve up some good Southern cooking. They have a cookbook for sale if you want to try some things at home. It's family owned and operated and everything is made from scratch. A true delight!

We were pleasantly surprised to find the food here was superb and the service was extremely friendly. We got steak and seafood and it was all wonderful and cooked perfectly. The chef took a while to get our meal out and sent us extra cole slaw to apologize, which I thought was nice, but we hadn't noticed it being slow because we were talking and relaxing on a Sunday afternoon. We tried dessert and it was wonderful and we look forward to going again to try all the other desserts!

My husband found this place on the internet so we tried it when we drove to Savannah for the day. Boy, what a disappointment. All seafood is boiled almost. I did find crab cakes on the menu so we got that and they were not really good. They contained pieces of shell we had to keep spitting out! The table was not clean, nor were our chairs. It was noisy and people kept bumping our chair as they past because they were so busy. We ate inside because it was chilly, but even so, the crab cakes were cold in spots. I think they were fresh from the microwave since they were hot in others! The service was friendly, but it didn't make up for the bad food and even worse Margarita that had never seen a drop of fresh lime juice!
We will not go back here ever.

Linens N Things is one of my favorite stores because they are so helpful and friendly. If you have a question or are looking for something, they'll call their other locations to see if it's available and have it sent over. I have been very pleased with the quality of service I've received. They always have a coupon offering a discount being sent through the mail or in the Sunday newspapers, so you get a really good deal above their already good prices. Selection is great and it's a well laid out store which makes the experience pleasant..
