When my husband and I went to Cheddar's for a evening out, I had high hopes. The atmosphere is casual, but the menu looked good. However, during our meal, our waiter sat at the next table and refilled our salt, pepper, etc. by just reaching over and grabbing them! I thought it was a little funny, but he actually took the dessert menu from us, wiped it off with spray and then put it back WHILE we were eating! I applaud whatever-his-name-was for cleanliness, but don't bus our table while we're still eating. Overall, he was attentive, but I was almost ready to ask him to pull up a chair and join us since he hovered over us the whole time. The food was okay, but later I had horrible horrible indigestion. Maybe you'll find something better on the menu, but I thought a salad would be pretty innocuous.
