Relationship counseling as a separate, educated help is a late event. Until the tardy 20th century, the job of relationship counseling was informally fulfilled by lock friends, family members, or city religious leaders. Psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors and communal workers have historically dealt principally with individual psychological problems. In many less technologically advanced cultures around the earth today, the establishment of kinsmen, the village or assemblage elders fulfill the labor of relationship counseling. Today matrimony mentoring mirrors those cultures.
