Every year, some association or another has a free comic book day. We wandered in to Dr. No's in search of our free book, and were blown away by the variety and selection.
Considering how we were only there (originally) for the free stuff, the staff were very nice and helpful...even with my daughter who takes a looooooong time to make a decision.
The store quickly became one of my son's favorites, and he asks to return regularly.

BJ's is a direct competitor of Sam's and Costco, which should play out to great prices for the consumer. They are certainly a bit lower, so the consumer wins there.

But the quality of the food, and the indifferent customer service don't make up for the few cents I'll save here and there.
I'm not a huge fan of buying in bulk, and this store did nothing to win me over. I let my free membership expire, and don't plan on renewing it. Even for another free one.

This is a good discount store; it sells overruns or nearly expired items that the other chains want to get rid of. Because of this, there is no real regularity to the stock. Some days you'll find, say your favorite hairspray, and others you'll find nothing you can use. Those days are rare, however.
This is the first place to shop for greeting cards, Halloween costumes, Christmas decorations and gift wrap. Check the circular online before you make the trip to the store: biglots.com.

My kids have been to several birthday parties at this facility. The staff has always been patient, knowledgeable and fun.
The equipment is very well maintained and the building itself is clean and organized thoughtfully.
Yet, like most athletic facilities of this nature, it smells vaguely of sweat and/or feet. Not my favorite smell.
But kids love it, they get a load of exercise, and I can take shallow breaths through my mouth while I'm there. Good trade off.

Snack bars are plentiful, bathrooms are easy to access, and there is even an ATM in the lobby.
Make sure you get there early enough to park, and that you arrive with enough time to spare, regardless of whatever performance you are attending.

My sister lives in the general area, so we have gone to the park several times. There are a few places near the entrance where you can park your car, walk in and get free accesss, so be sure to drive around a bit. Don't do that on the day you have a huge picnic basket, though. It won't be fun.
The fireworks are always fun, and be sure to climb the mountain if you are able. The view is not to be missed.
The visitor section at the top is lame, after the long walk, I think people deserve more than a dull snack bar and two sets of bathrooms (one of which is ALWAYS closed).
Go at least once.

Go to this store! I try to avoid anything stamped with Oprah's seal of approval, (the ensuing hype and rush makes it impossible). But I'm very glad I was fitted.
NOTE: if you are a bit of a prude, like I am, be prepared. You WILL need to drop your blouse and show your goods to the fitter.
The dressing rooms were great, and the fitter was excellent. She told me what to look for and how a bra SHOULD fit.
What I was not prepared for was the price! Wow! $90 for a bra?! Give me a break! However. This will include a lifetime of free alterations to the band. They will keep your information on file so you never have to worry about your bra size again. The customer service rocks. I recommend you go at least once.

Stopping in at Christmas time is an absolute must. The clerks are simply the best when it comes to gift wrap, and gift selection. Allow yourself plenty of time to browse. You'll need it.

Cards and gifts for every occasion can be found here, as well as stationery for general correspondence and entertaining.
The staff is great, and very helpful at picking out unusual or out of the ordinary items.

Very chichi, very stylish, and very out of my price range. But it's great to people watch, window shop and catch up with friends.
A movie theater and several restaurants round out the experience...valet parking is available, but parking is abundant for those who prefer to do it themselves.
Certainly the goods are expensive, but lots of fun if you look at as a field trip.
