Buyer Beware 8/25/2011

I specifically purchased fabric from Maxie's Daughter located down on 4th Street around the corner from South Street because they have been in business for over 50 years. I came to shop from Texas. I ordered 18 yards of upholstery fabric on June 20, 2011 that Eric, the owner, was going to ship to me so I wouldn't have the aggravation of lugging 18 yards home in a suitcase or the cost. He said it would be sent in 4-6 days. After countless calls, text, emails, lie after lie, I NEVER received my fabric or money. I absolutely would NEVER do business with Maxie's Daughter again. Eric is a liar and unethical. What I found out after the fact, is that Joann's Fabric, a national company, actually carries the fabric I went all the way to Philadelphia for, and they are a very ethical business. Buyer beware, never buy from Maxie's Daughter unless you have fabric in hand and even then I would just avoid that store. Eric ruined my sofa being ready for an event I was hosting. The owners seemed like such nice people with a family (ma/pa) business but don't be deceived. Agh! more
