I first went to Sehome Cleaners to have a pair of pants hemmed, and they've since become my primary source for any work of this sort. The turnaround on getting something mended or altered isn't usually as fast as getting something cleaned, but I believe one woman does all that work, rather than the team who do all the dry cleaning. I think it's worth it- they've got a great location and she does really wonderful work. My silk sweater was snagged, and the repair is almost invisible.

I currently see Dr. Mystique Grobe, a naturopath on E Street off Dupont in Bellingham. I like her style very much, she is friendly and professional. She is big on herbal and vitamin therapies as well as doing accupuncture in her office. Her supplements are pretty reasonably priced, too.
I've also been a patient of Dr. Pat Elliott, in the Bellingham Herald building on State Street. She has a similar methodology to Dr. Grobe. She was my first Naturopth; unfortunately when we switched insurance companies she was suddenly "out of network" and I had to move on.

When you're buying a home, you want an inspector who is thorough to the point of obsessive. Leon did our home inspection when we moved to town and I was very impressed. He's the guy who trains the other building inspectors in the area and he's been in the business for many years.
Leon found a couple of problems that we had the seller repair...and discovered other minor things that were just plain good to know so we could keep an eye on them. He also encouraged us to call him any time in the future if we were doing maintenance or repairs and had questions. He remembers the houses he inspects and also keeps detailed notes on them.
Highly recommended.

A friend of mine who lives in Kirkland was so vocal about her recommendation of this fellow and his window cleaning services that she asked I pass it on to as many people as possible! She said Mr. Honeywell did all the windows in her home, INSIDE AND OUT, and charged a very low price. He was pleasant and hospitable, and left no mess behind. Highly recommended for doing your dirty work!

Best buy is most definitely your one stop electronics shop, with all everything in terms of electronics imaginable...you can find yourself anything in there or even let yourself go and have fun in the electronic haven. They have a wide variety of video games, movies and CD's. And the service is great here. Everyone greets me and whenever I'm looking around they offer their help and expertise. I've never had a bad experience there and its fun to look around at everything.

Kirk,
This may be just too late but i thought I'd share it anyway.
I pass by this little stamp and coin shop (downtown Bellingham) all the time. I've never gone in and frankly i don't know the first thing about collectible stamps and/or coins but I'm always surprised with how busy they are! Usually when I pass by there are 2-3 employees working diligently and 1 or 2 customers. Just my observations from a passer-by.
I believe this is their website:

This store is a unique place. It carries a true hodgepodge of items, from food to kitchen wares to school supplies to personal care products to toys...you get the picture. So what makes it different from a department store?
You never know what you'll find when you go. The stuff that's here is here because it was liquidated or overstocked or damaged or expired or whatever. You'll find overstock items from Target or Eddie Bauer next to generic label items. It's a great place to buy gourmet or "natural" food products (often with plenty of shelf life remaining). At Haggen you'd pay $2.50 for a jar of gourmet salsa...at Deals Only it will be 69 cents. This makes it easy to try new brands or even new kinds of food for the first time, with little risk.
Caution 1: not everything in the store is a "deal." Some items can be had for less money elsewhere.
Caution 2: some things (I'm thinking of food items here) deserved to be liquidated because they are plain nasty. They failed on the supermarket shelf for a good reason. Low carb breakfast cereal comes to mind.

I travel alot with my job and to me a hotel is a hotel is a hotel. They are all pretty much the same and to me they are no maor than a place to sleep while I'm not at home.
The Quality Inn Baron Suites is a decent motel with nice rooms and decent rates. The rooms are clean and that's what I care about most. I don't want to sleep in someone else's filth.
Clean and affordable rooms. And nice clerks at the front desk. Quick check-in.
I paid just over $70 a night for my room.

I went to this place ( Silhouettes Salon ) because I won a girt certificate. Gina Green did a facial on me. It was the most uncomfortable experience I have ever been through. She began by talking about her last customer then finished off by talking about the hairdressers she didn't like. She was pushy about selling me products and to be honest she is no better than a beginer. She needs to learn how to treat clients. ( maybe I was treated this way because I won my certificate and she wasn't making money off me.
Pros: none
Cons: she gossips about others and does bad work
