Last month my family was vacationing in the Dickson, Tn, area when our 08 Hyundai Azera started making a clunking noise on take-off and on bumpy roads. It got worse over the weekend, and I saw the Jim Reed TV ad in Nashville. So Monday morning my wife and I drove Hwy 70 all the way to Nashville to the dealership. When we arrived about 9:30 am we were promptly greeted by your ""service writer?"" Brandon Ottow. I explained my problem and he informed me the Hyundai technicians were booked up that day and if I could leave the car they would take a look at it as soon as they could. I explained I had nowhere to go and or other means of transportation, so we would just wait in the customer lounge. An hour or so later Brandon came in and gave the news. I had a rock that had become lodged between the lower control arm and the engine block. Each time the engine torqued it would grind the rock into the block. They had removed the rock, test drove the vehicle and the problem was gone. He recommended rotating my tires to deferred a new set, and I asked for an oil change. This was all accomplished in less than an hour. Here in Florida it always take 2-4 hours just for an oil change, I think they want us to spend time looking at new cars. I was very, very satisfied by Jim Reed's service department and the personal interest Brandon Ottow took in handling our problem. It made our vacation an enjoyable one instead of a nightmare. We will try having our vehicle service each time we go to Dickson instead of at our local dealer. Brandon and the service technician deserve a raise. more
