This is the best yoga place I’ve ever been to. The classes are definitely challenging (it is one heck of a workout, believe me) but they are loads of fun. The instructors are amazing and they give you a lot of personal attention and want you to improve. Make sure to bring a towel or a yoga mat.

The first time I ever went to a ice skating ring was The Oakland Ice Center. When I first entered I knew it was going to be fun. The steps to getting into the ring is fast and everyone is nice there. My family members also enjoy skating in the wonder environment. The prices is also good and there is also arcades to play when you are taking a break from skating. You should visit here if you stop by Oakland.

So I'm training with the AIDS Marathon Training Program for the January 2006 Miami Marathon and this place has provided pretty much all I need. The people are very friendly and helpful. Their selection isn't huge, certainly doesn't compare to the Sports Basement in the Presidio, but it's SO convenient for the East Bay. Plus, I've been able to find all the cold and wet weather gear I need, shoes, shorts, GU and BodyGlide here. They offer a discount to any of the charitable training programs (AIDS Marathon, TinT) as well.

Recently my bike's break started to become weaker so it was time to get new breaks. I went to the closes bike shop and it was Wheels of Justice Cyclery. The owner gave me suggestions of different brakes I would want and he said this one was the best so I bought it. But the brakes make a lot of noise so wasn't really pleased with it. When i walked in I saw a lot of good bikes at good prices so I would go there if I ever needed a bike agian.

The computers and games is very smooth and clean. Most places I go to is not as clean as this. The games they sell is also very affordable. The staff members there is like a friend and they know what games people like nowadays. Awsome be going there later today!

By the water at Jack London Square, youll find California Canoe & Kayak and they are the definitive place to shop for anything kayak and canoe-related. They even rent canoes and kayaks to play around in at the water at their location. They have mandatory classes if youd like to rent their stuff, and they also have outings in the sea for whale watching. This is a great resource with a very knowledgeable and patient staff.

Unlike similar stores that I've seen for women, See Jane Run seems to be serious about sports. They carry all kinds of gear, from apparel to bags... and what bags! They have a full stock of Timbuk2 bags, and if they are out of something, they are willing to order. Orders are pretty quick, as well. The mostly female staff is friendly and outgoing, as well as knowledgeable.
On #51 bus line, close to Rockridge BART.

My son and I went to the Bent Spoke after he popped another tire on his bike. The staff in the store was able to fix the tire and it was ready for pick up the next day.
Their prices are reasonable and they don't try to forceably sell you unnecessary parts for your bike.
They also have new and reasonably priced used bikes available.

More
I just completed my first Oakland Heritage Alliance tour. OHA volunteers lead tours through Oakland Neighborhoods most weekend days throughout the summer. The tour I participated in was through the Glenview neighborhood where I live. The guides had definitely done their research beforehand and provided a wealth of information about architects, builders, early dwellers, Dimond Park, Lions Pool, the Glenview shopping district, the now-closed Glenview Branch of the Oakland Public Library, PBPC, and on and on. I will definitely be attending future events.
Tours cost $10 for non-members $5 for members. Membership is $35/year for an individual or $50/year for a family. If you become a member the first tour is free.
Check it out: good people, interesting history, and a chance to learn more about Oakland's colorful past.
