Great Service but where's Johnny? 11/17/2010

I had electrical problems with a Chevy Cavalier that a national auto club service location worked on (at great expense) for over a month. They gave up and they took the car to a local Chevy dealer in Raleigh. The dealer was willing to ""see what they could find"" at around $100 per hour. They had no idea what the problem was or how many hours that it would take to figure it out but they were willing to ?try? if I gave them a blank check! I then took it to Johnny's Auto & Marine Electrical in Garner. I was given a fair maximum amount that they would charge to diagnose the problem. In less than a day, they found the problem and repaired an electronic component that would have cost over a hundred dollars, just for the part. Their entire bill was the amount that they quoted for the estimate amount. Later I had a no start problem with a 6 month old Wal-Mart battery that Wal-Mart tested TWICE and told me that the battery was fine. Back to Johnny?s I went thinking that I had an electrical short in the vehicle. There was a drain but it was in the defective battery from Wal-Mart. The bottom line is that Dwight and Fred (I think that Fred is the inspiration for the Rodney Carrington song ?Fred? but I digress) are a throw back to the shops that know what they are doing and are fair in what they charge. I still would like to know what happened to poor Johnny but I may not get the answer to that question until after the ?statue of limitations? expires? more
