I love, love, love this store. You can find a gift for anyone hear without having to hike across the mall or fight crowds. (Except for Dec. 26, the Christmas sale gets a bit cutthroat.) Yeah, it's not W**-M***, but it has a wide variety of prices you may not expect. I've worked there part-time, and they really are neat people, too. Although, the storeroom areas there look a bit like the warehouse in the Indiana Jones movies...scary and stacked full of boxes. You HAVE to go in the Dept. 56 room in the back with the wee tiny houses, it's like walking into the Mister Roger's puppet town.
Pros: Something for everyone, Dept. 56 room in back is magical.
Cons: The fountains always make me want to run to the bathroom.

I have used Forest Hills Service Center for several years. Jamie and his staff have done work for me on three different cars. Jamie is the most honest, hard working mechanic I have ever met. He has an unusual ability to explain a mechanical problem to a novice. His prices are very reasonable. Perhaps the best part of his service is that he often offers alternatives to solving a problem. He may suggest both a short term solution and a long term solution and will explain what the costs will be in either case. If the car is older and of lower value and he thinks that a certain type of repair is not worth the money based on the value of the car he will tell you this even though this may result in less revenue for him. In other words he is totally honest.
Pros: Excellent in all respects

I burnt a hole in my carpet and Frazee sent a team out to repair the iron burn! Within an hour the spot was repaired and I am the only one who knows about the patch! I had family stay with me for a week and not once did anyone notice, which is great since the spot is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of my living room!

When I was looking for lighting for my kitchen remodel I looked at stores like Home Depot and Lowe's and online. I hadn't really found anything that I loved, so I decided to check some local stores. University Lights was the third independent retailer I went to and it was magical when I walked in! They have an amazing display of lighting with all sorts of colors, shapes, and styles. It was incredible! Someone came to help me right away and I happened to mention that I liked a certain fixture but wanted something more traditional in styling and the salesperson said the fixture came with different options and when she showed me the catalog I found the perfect lights! The lights were inexpensive, which was a really nice surprise. They have all price points and styles so definately give them a look.
Pros: selection, price, customer service
Cons: you might pass the service road entrance so watch for it

I took my 2 year old in for his first dental visit and we had a great experience. The environment in the lobby is extremely kid friendly and so is all the staff. He got a new toothbrush at the beginning of his appt. which kept him happy for most of the rest of our visit. The Dental Technician did a great job coaching me on caring for my son's teeth and the dentist was very gentle with his examination. They also gave my son a button with his picture on it for the Cavity Free Club which he wore proudly for the rest of the day. I highly recommend Dr. Christensen!

If you've got roses, Witherspoon Rose culture is basically who you want to deal with. No one else does what they do. They'll supply you with rose bushes, plant them, and then take care of them--meaning make sure they're getting the proper care both feeding wise, make sure they're getting cut back an appropriate amount and spraying them for bugs (like Japanese beetles which have on and off been a problem in the area). Such service doesn't come cheap, but with some work and witherspoon rose culture co., you can get some great looking bushes.

Was happy with the service. The plumber was on time and quick. He showed me exactly what he was doing. He fixed a leaky shower head, some of the rubber parts in the handle were old. He looked at a few other things as well. It was 142.00 for parts and labor. To replace the whole thing with a new fixture would have been 400.00. I initially wanted to do the fix myself, however a blowtorch was in order because the fixture was extremely difficult to remove due to years of buildup.
I believe in writting reviews because I really rely on other customer's recommendations. Thanks, to the other two people who wrote reviews.

I recently called Frazee carpet after finding them in an on-line list of carpet businesses. I was very impressed with the quality of their service. We had a slightly unusual job -- we had some carpet that had been torn out of another room, but it was still in good condition, and we wanted it installed on the stairs. The person I spoke to on the phone recommended Bill and Cecil to do the job. They were excellent. It turned out that the carpet I had wasn't in quite as good condition as I had remembered, and when we rolled it out it was clear that there were some patches that were better than others. They carefully cut out the best bits of carpet that I had, and installed them professionally. It looks great. I could imagine that some places might hire workers that are barely trained in the simple installation of new carpet, and who wouldn't be able to do this. Bill and Cecil did careful, professional work and took pride in it. I'm sure they do the same when working with new materials. It was very reasonably priced too.
