I have shopped at Vernon's for 24 years. I liked it because of the personal service. The last 2 visits to Vernon's was like walking into a smaller more expensive Lowe's. I tried to get help from two different people my last trip. I waited while one employee was helping a customer. Just when he finished with that customer a lady walked up to the key department. He went directly to the key machine. I went up to the front desk and asked another employee for some help. I stood while he put some paper work in folders at the front desk. Another employee came from outside and asked him a question, and as quick as a Lowe's employee on a cell phone, he disappeared with the other employee. If they are going to treat me like Lowe's does, I might as well shop at Lowe's. They are much cheaper. This would never have happened if Tommy (the owner) was there.
