I posted this review on Yelp, but figured I'd post it here, too. It's silly and effusive, but it's also honest- the salon is great. Even if Quint Eby didn't immediately understand the nuances of Judy's Book, he knows how to run a salon :).

I love this salon!!!
My friend had just butchered my already self-inflicted dye-damaged hair, and... well, my expression was very grim at the sight in the mirror. I doubted that much could be done, but knew I had to do something before I ended up quivering in some alley begging for hair tips from my only friend:

Well, perhaps that's a tad over the top, but IT WAS REALLY, REALLY BAD. There are a lot of great reviews, and I searched through them all to find a place that would be friendly, unpretentious and great at what they do. I finally chose Quint Eby (despite that music on their website)- and thank goodness. It was the right choice. From now on, this is my salon and David is (sigh) my hair prince.
Yes, David cut my hair, and first of all, he and his assistant were such lovely and gorgeous people. I can be quite shy with unfamiliar faces, and I really enjoyed their company. They were considerate, honest and funny. David took the horrid rat's nest I came in with and sent me out the door feeling all sexy and fierce (I never feel all sexy and fierce). I got to listen as he trained his assistant, and he definitely knows what he's doing, more so than any stylist I've had before.
However, the best thing was when I returned to David for a new hair color. I didn't think the small change would make that much of a difference- mostly I just wanted to even out my hair, and he actually chose the perfect hair color. I was a little worried, but I love it more every day. It looks completely natural, makes my pale skin look lovely and creamy and my eyes pop out. I've had dark hair in the past but to be perfectly honest, people asked me if I was sick all the time. Now I get told I'm beautiful :). David said it was me, but better.
Oh, and I love the shampoo I bought there. I've gone through my fair share of brands, and my fair share of stylists rudely launching product into my basket, and- what do you know- this wasn't pushed on me and it's my all time favorite.
SO. This is my first review. A before and after picture would be all the review you would need, but since I can't do that, I wrote this silly ode. I signed up specifically to let the public know that if you're trying to sort through all the great reviews, just stop right now because this is the best place! Truly. It's small, friendly and you will leave feeling like you but better.
