All reviews seem positive

Ah stop bickering, here's a real review 6/21/2007

I posted this review on Yelp, but figured I'd post it here, too. It's silly and effusive, but it's also honest- the salon is great. Even if Quint Eby didn't immediately understand the nuances of Judy's Book, he knows how to run a salon :). ---------- I love this salon!!! My friend had just butchered my already self-inflicted dye-damaged hair, and... well, my expression was very grim at the sight in the mirror. I doubted that much could be done, but knew I had to do something before I ended up quivering in some alley begging for hair tips from my only friend: http://www.dailyhaha.com/_pics/hairdo.jpg Well, perhaps that's a tad over the top, but IT WAS REALLY, REALLY BAD. There are a lot of great reviews, and I searched through them all to find a place that would be friendly, unpretentious and great at what they do. I finally chose Quint Eby (despite that music on their website)- and thank goodness. It was the right choice. From now on, this is my salon and David is (sigh) my hair prince. Yes, David cut my hair, and first of all, he and his assistant were such lovely and gorgeous people. I can be quite shy with unfamiliar faces, and I really enjoyed their company. They were considerate, honest and funny. David took the horrid rat's nest I came in with and sent me out the door feeling all sexy and fierce (I never feel all sexy and fierce). I got to listen as he trained his assistant, and he definitely knows what he's doing, more so than any stylist I've had before. However, the best thing was when I returned to David for a new hair color. I didn't think the small change would make that much of a difference- mostly I just wanted to even out my hair, and he actually chose the perfect hair color. I was a little worried, but I love it more every day. It looks completely natural, makes my pale skin look lovely and creamy and my eyes pop out. I've had dark hair in the past but to be perfectly honest, people asked me if I was sick all the time. Now I get told I'm beautiful :). David said it was me, but better. Oh, and I love the shampoo I bought there. I've gone through my fair share of brands, and my fair share of stylists rudely launching product into my basket, and- what do you know- this wasn't pushed on me and it's my all time favorite. SO. This is my first review. A before and after picture would be all the review you would need, but since I can't do that, I wrote this silly ode. I signed up specifically to let the public know that if you're trying to sort through all the great reviews, just stop right now because this is the best place! Truly. It's small, friendly and you will leave feeling like you but better. more

Quint Eby Salon 1/12/2007

I love Quint Eby ! I feel so relaxed at his salon not only because of the salon itself but also because of Quint's expertise. He is an amazing individual and an excellent hair colorist. He has done my hair for a year and I refuse to go to anyone else in the city. You guys are right, he is the BEST ! more

The Quintessential Colorist 12/4/2006

Besides being a great person Quint is the best colorist in town. This is a no rush salon where the staff takes the time to listen to what you are looking for and then delivers more than you expected. After a couple of nightmare salon visits I was ecstatic to find this place. more

Quint Eby nd his Salon are Excellent 10/24/2006

I have been to the Quint Eby Salon around 6 times now, and every time I walk out I feel like a more beautiful person. Not only on the outside, but inside also. Quint and his staff take an actual interest in you as a client, instead of the normal salon talk (what movie have you seen lately, etc.). I had never had my hair colored before I saw Quint and I now have people asking me who does my hair, because they think it is a job well done. (I can only wish I could take the credit for the way my hair looks). If you are a nervous first timer or a regular at coloring your hair, you should give Quint a try. He is beyond trustworthy. Once you have had the best, you won't be able to go elsewhere. Jessica Sofie more

just as important as having good stylists... 8/18/2006

...is knowing which stylists are right for different types of hair. and lo and behold, quint certainly knows the skillsets of the people who work at his salon! after drawing me in through a comment on judysbook, i decided to give quint eby salon a try. so first i asked him who he'd recommend for my curly locks and he set me up with chantelle. i only had to wait a few days for an appointment and felt confident about going in after threatening quint with a menacing shake of the fist should he steer me wrong. he didn't. :-) have you even been in a salon and you know what you want your hair to look like but you have no idea how to really articulate it to the stylist? that wasn't a problem here because chantelle was able to do exactly what salon seven claimed to do - know what you need for your hair type and your face. AND she knew how to do it. i literally NEVER walk out of a salon and like the way my hair looks, it always takes a few days of me being able to play with it, or the stylist blewdry it sort of goofy so i need to wash it myself, etc. i was so happy when i walked out that i felt chic and wanted to show everyone i knew. quint himself is a doll and 1/2, the prices are very reasonable, and the location is easy to get to. the only negative is parking and that's not a big negative since i was able to get paid parking within 2 blocks of the salon. 2 enthusiastic thumbs up. more
