I've been here a few times, either by myself or with groups, and I've decided I am NEVER going back. Parking is horrible and the women at the front desk are incredibly snotty and rude (especially the manager and this dark haired, heavier lady who's been there several years from her account). I've overheard several of them talking about each other, and other clients, behind their backs. Now I know that one of the massage therapists/estheticians has bipolar disorder. Not something even THEY should know, really. The return policy is HORRIBLE, and they don't even have prices marked on half of their goods. If you get to the register and realize something is grossly overpriced and want to put it back, they make you feel like you're cheap and have no money and still pressure you into buying - I'm certain they work on commission, at least some of them. They don't care at all about customer satisfaction. Speaking of products, the whole spa is completely cluttered with useless junk and ugly hair accessories - which is strange because they don't even do hair. The only thing I really enjoyed here wasn't a service, but one of the nail technicians. (I'm not sure if we can name names here, but she's asian and her name starts with an L. She's the only good thing about Frenchy's!!) She is very, very nice and polite and I've always enjoyed coming in to see her. Unfortunately I won't be coming back, though, as the service from the girls at the front and the pedicurists is absolutely awful. Also, the pedicure stations were INCREDIBLY dirty - just covered with other people's nail clippings and filed-off skin flakes. It's filthy. The women talk about you as if you can't hear them, and they even use foot files and tubs and the like that they used on another client. I'm pretty sure this doesn't even meet the health code! To top it all off, the services aren't even priced reasonably. $50 for a dirty, sloppy pedicure? Take your money elsewhere, ladies!
· Pros: none, really
· Cons: dirty, overpriced, pushy and rude salespeople, gossipy
· Overall: NOT RECOMMENDED!

if customer service is what you are looking for, like a polite acknowledgment or pleasant demeanor, you will simply not find it here. If you are looking to get a fair (very comparable to other places in Seattle that do the same thing for the same price) mani/pedi for $30, in a fairly clean nail salon, then this place suffices. My last experience there was having a 20 year boy tell me that although the sign on the door says that they close at 6pm on a Sunday, they are deciding to close early and would therefore not give my mother a manicure. I think he was especially rude when I politely asked for the service to be performed by one of the ladies working there. the fact that him and his homey swirling around in their chairs and were abrasive and nonchalant simply did not entice me to have him give my mother a half decent manicure. I am not sure if I would patron again, let alone recommend it wholeheartly...then again, you get what you pay for?

I have been to the downtown Gene Juarez more than one for a haircut. Apparently I am a slow learner. I have never had a good haircut at this salon. I have tried several stylists, each one seems deaf to what I tell her I want done to my hair. Shoulder length does not mean cut up to my chin! Not only are the haircuts poor, but the prices are high and parking is expensive and challenging. My advise, skip Gene Juarez!

Top Nails is an all-around good nail salon with very reasonable prices. Great manicures, pedicures, and acrylic work. Where they really stand out is in two areas. One, their lead technician Anh (Ann) is excellent. She does acrylic nails so thin and so well that people don't even believe that they're fake, even after examining them up close. Second, Top Nails doesn't charge any extra for doing an air-brushed French manicure, which looks a lot sharper and lasts a lot longer than painted-on. All that, and free parking at Larry's. They're terrific.

If you are looking for a spa experience that you'll enjoy check out the spa on the fifth floor of Nordstrom downtown Seattle. They'll make you feel great and the setting is very comfortable. Worth the cost and time spent relaxing-- plus the services offered are unique and enjoyable (not the "i-am-too-hot-in-the-mud-bath")

I am new to Seattle and a regular pedicure client for many years. I tried this shop based on the positive review on Judy's Book. This was a shocking and disappointing experience. The pedicurist rushed through the pedicure in 12 minutes without a word of greeting, looking out the front window the entire time. It is beyond my understanding why a shop would employ such a grim and artless practitioner, but I certainly will never return.

I've only gotten a few manicures, but the best place I've been to was Broadway Nails on Broadway in Capitol Hill. This was my first experience getting a manicure, and they made me feel perfectly comfortable (as a guy I was a little uncomfortable when first walking in). The manicurist washed my hands and fingers, gave them a brief massage, and then went to work grooming them. I was completely relaxed the whole time, thanks to her amazing hands. And the cost was right on target, around $12 I believe. They also do pedicures, which for relaxing my feet after a long day of walking around Seattle, would be great!

I took a party of 8 women to Spa Envy for my wedding mani/pedi. It seemed great at first-- you can bring food and drinks, services are affordable. I was the one that dealt with all the arrangements, including the scheduling when we got there. To make a long story short, they messed up and I ended up with only a pedicure, no manicure-- while the rest of the women had both. They were unapologetic, and in fact claimed that it was my fault, that I said that I did not want both-- which I never would have said, as it was my wedding and I did all the communication for the group. They could not/would not find a way to make the situation right-- somehow it was impossible to give me a manicure right then, and they did not comp the pedicure. Everyone was left with a bad feeling. I will not be going back. They need to know that good customer service goes a long way.

This nail shop is otherwise non-descript; it's located in a strip mall along 1st ave in Burien.
However, if you need a mani/pedi in a jiff...or you're watching your budget- this is the place to go.
The salon itself is pretty big and rather airy- so no major toxic smells- which was a blessing when I was pregnant and convinced I would be poisoning my unborn child simply because I needed a mani/pani to feel better about my over-bloated self.
The prices are reasonable and they have a wide selection OPI nail polish, which is always a good thing...

South of Seattle there is a great, inexpensive place to get a decent pedicure: Burien Nail & Spa. At $23 for a pedi and an additional $7 for a manicure at the same time, their prices are great. Service is good – you can call and reserve a chair but don’t be surprised if you have to wait for a few minutes. They have a good color selection, and if you’re a regular you can buy tools to be used on you and you only, and store them in a box at the salon. Also offer tanning and massage, though I haven’t tried it. All and all, it’s a good find!
