American Music is an excellent alternative to Guitar Center. If you are a musician (or someone who is buying gear for your starving/poor musician friend or significant other!) you need to shop here. First, the service is friendly and they actually know what they are talking about AND can actually play. Unlike other music store "dudes" who don't seem to know what they're talking about or even where they are at times. Spacey. American music sells Gibson and Fender guitars, Marshall and Fender Amps, Bogner, Vox, etc. The selection (especially for electric guitars) is formidable. The bass selection is slim, but high quality and they choose their stock wisely at all price points. The drum "side" is also okay, with a decent selection. Get their in the morning on a weekday for tons of attention and time to sit and sample new gear. Highly recommended.
