I love the Jumbo #9!! I also love the humous. The place is friendly and has great food. The building is old, sort of dirty, but I don't mind too much. The service is friendly. I can't think of a better late night place to go grab some grub. Its quick, good and not too expensive. I always take visitors and friends to this place, never had any complaints. Go check it out! The only negatives are the propaganda on the wall and that they only take cash.
Pros: Food, Service
Cons: Cash only, narrow entry way

Now that the smoking ban has gone into effect in Seattle, I no longer have any gripes about the Gyrocery. They have excellent falafel (and my meat-eating friends enjoy their gyros and other meals made with halal meat); prices range from about $4 for a small meal to $7+ for larger or combination meals. Expect to wait about five minutes for your meal, and they will bring it out to you at your table in back. The seating area features a canopy-covered area with pillows and rugs as well as tables, perfect for lounging with your food or drink.

Food to-go made almost immediately (about a 5 min. wait)...
Make excellent gyros, spaniko-pita, dolmathes, etc.
Definitely worth trying if you're ever on the Ave.! More >

Great food and quality for great prices! The food is fabulous, especially the lamb mix gyro and the people are super nice. It is a very ethnic place with cool tapestries and weird decorations. They stay open super late so it's great to go there when you are feeling the midnight munchies. The only downfall...smoking is allowed and it gets really smokey in the lounge type area.

If you like the food enough, you can even buy ingredients there to try to make food yourself at home.
This place also has a lounging area in the rear where you can sit and eat at a table...smoking is allowed so it's kind of annoying sometimes.

The merits of Aladdin's are threefold- 1) an awesome gyro (addictive really) B) free water and 3) open very late. One of the few shops open into the wee hours, Aladdin's serves food til 3am. Oh, and I forgot to add affordable. And they round all of the prices to the nearest quarter which makes sense to me.

good selection of Middle Eastern / Mediterranean foods. Most will not take more than 5-7 minutes to prepare, depending on how busy they are. The "lounge" area in the back is dark, but decorated with rugs on the wall. Has a few tables to sit down at, and wooden benches next to the wall, with pillows to cushion your butt. may have some Middle Eastern music playing in the background - adds to the atmosphere.

Despite the name this is basically just a little restaurant. If you want Middle Eastern groceries your best bet that I know of is The Souk in Pike Place Market. Aladdin's has pretty good falafel and other foods, though, although I seem to remember being a little disappointed last time I came in that they were no longer serving Arabic-style coffee...

A great cheap eat in the U-district. You walk in and within a few feet you're in the ordering line. Can be a little cramped with customers. Gyros are excellent and they also offer chicken if you don't like red meat. If you're a vegetarian then try the Falafels. Also great. Then grab a pop from the standup cooler and go to the luxurious digs in the back. A campy and none too manicured tent space with couches, or standard cafeteria tables. Oh yeah, its also a middle eastern grocery store.
Pros: Authentic feeling, Friendly, Great food for cheap
Cons: Some people smoke
