Roto Rooter

I live on a hillside and have groundwater damage to my home and landscaping.. I have called 3 or.4 companies to get estimates on how to dry out my property,the last estimate was over8,000 dollars, I heard from a freind RotoRooter had a real pro fixing ground water problems named Dave Potter with 20 yrs experience so I requested him and he came out.. This man is a book of knowledge explaining my problem, and had my outside drains working like never before. He was able to fix my drowning lawn and water in crawl space in a hour, thank you more

We had a leaking faucet and a clogged sink. We had heard about roto rooter from a couple of our friends and so decided to call them. 1) It was super easy to make appointment as we could go online and do it at night. 2) The plumber came next day (it was a holiday) but didnt charge extra. 3) He was very knowledgeable and gave us many tips. Fixed both the problems. We are super happy with their work. The faucet works better than it worked before the leak started. They were very reasonable too. more

I just had another plumbing problem in my house fixed by Roto Rooters workman, Brett, #203. They are the most polite and well informed workers I have met in a long time. They never charge until they have found the problem and figured out how much it will cost to complete. They answer all my questions and never make me feel like an idiotfor asking. I have used roto rooter for years and recomend them to all I know.I will keep on using them with no thought of changing. more

We've got an old house, with old pipes - it seems like the past five years have been nothing but calls for this or that already, so when our hot water heater stopped working, there was a moment of frustration that was followed by a good night's sleep. Brett from Roto Rooter (you can tell I'm impressed because I even remembered the plumber's name!) swung by in the morning, showed me how to check and replace the heating elements and even gave me some good tips on caring for the water heater going forward. It's not just a jingle anymore as far as I'm concerned. Every time we've needed them, the folks at Roto Rooter have been fast to reply, fixed the problem and gone above and beyond. I'm not saying I love plumbing problems, but it's a lot less stressful to consider them when I know I can get someone like them out to take care of it. more

Sewage backed up in basement/carpets/bathroom etc. Not much time for "estimates" from several companies. Unfortunately, called Roto-rooter -- they DID come out quickly and after an hour told me it would cost approx. $7,000 to complete repair. What was I to do? After seeing what they did and the minimal time involved (total 5 hours), I complained but to deaf ears. I subsequently called three other plumbing firms and received estimates ranging from $450 to $1,600. WHAT A TOTAL RIP-OFF. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY --- EVER, EVER, EVER !!!!!!!!! more

My husband and I just moved into our first house and were having difficulties with the plumbing in the shower/bath. We decided to hire a plumber to fix the problem but wanted to get an estimate first. It was difficult to find a plumber in Seattle, Washington as we have never had to do so before. The plumber came and gave us an estimate but he was also prepared that day to fix the problem whereas no other company plumbers were. We decided to go with Roto-Rooter because of this. Problem is fixed and plumber was very friendly as well, I would definitely use them again. more

Very happy to report that after a brief phone call we had a serviceman out at our restaraunt within a half an hour. He was knowledgable and courteous, and very patient with us-- we couldnt be happier! more

Although the service man Joe was very nice they were way to expensive. I paid $261.00 for 30 minutes of work, and thats with a $40.00 off coupon. All he did was snake my shower drain 5 feet. I paid him what it takes me two days to make as a teacher. There is something wrong with this. I would never recommend them to anyone I know unless they were Bill Gates. more

This is the company we always use. We have a root "issue" often. The sewer was backing up and I called them and they came out. The st. louis roto-rooter plumbers always do a good job, very respectful and keep things nice and clean. I will alwyas all them with my plumbing problems. more

Had a clogged main line and the cap to the clean out had fallen in. Roto rooter sent out camera men to see if they could find the cap. They located it but said it was wedged in the pipe and another camera man had to come out to specifically map out where the cap was so they could dig and remove that area of pipe and replace it to get the cap out and then deal with the clogged line. Second camera man came out and located the cap. He said they could come back in the morning but to dig 3ft through dirt (no barriers) and replace a short bit of pipe it would be $4300!!!!!! This was not even dealing with the clogged main line. We said goodbye and paid him $410 for the camera service. Called Fischer-Plumbing and without even coming out quoted us $950 for the cap removal to clean out the main line (it was just a root ball in the line). Fischer-Plumbing was out the next day, removed the root ball and got our plumbing working again and got us our cap back (would have caused problems if left in the main line). Shame on you Roto-Rooter. We were a house of women, with small children, at 6pm on a weeknight with no plumbing. Still no need to try and take advantage of us. Good thing there are still other good companies out their like Fischer-Plumbing. Will never call Roto-Rooter again and am making sure as many other people in the Seattle know as well. Someone might have fallen for the outrageous price and just paid it. So sad. more

The greatest Seattle plumber service from the first call to make sure we were there and prompt arrival of plumber in the time space allotted. He was courteous, personable, and repeated back what he heard was the problem so there would be no misunderstanding. He went right to work, cleared the drain, all our questions were answered and he made sure to clean up after himself. Payment was made,receipt given with good documentation of what was done. I would definitely use this service again. more

We had a clogged kitchen drain. Tried 1 bottle of Liquid Plumr to no avail. We called Roto Rooter. I asked what their rates were and was told it was by the job and they couldn't tell me over the phone but that they guy would visit and give a free estimate. I took off work ($$), the guy arrived within the 2 hour window they make you wait. He said their MINIMUM was $265 even if it took 15 minutes. I said "yikes! $265!!!" He said he might be there an hour and a half. (really?) My wife said "just get it done, I want my kitchen back" (this is what they are counting on with their "no over the phone" quotes). He ran his snake out, it pushed our clog as one would expect. The drain ran clear. It took about 20 minutes. With tax the bill came to $300. That will buy A LOT of Liquid Plumr. Like 50 bottles. The guy was nice enough, but afterward I felt dumb for having said yes, and duped into paying $300 for a little kitchen clog, and furious that they actually do have a minimum, but wouldn't say so over the phone....seems sleazy. I will not use them again. more

I was in dire need of a plumber. I live in Seattle and called Roto-Rooter plumbing service. The main sewer line was blocked and George was able to clear the line very qucikly, He arrived within an hour of my call to Roto-Rooter and he was fast, clean and efficient. He left no mess and I was very relieved to have my house functioning smoothly again. more

The whole experience was terrible. They sent out Mike who left when asked to actually look at the problem before giving a quote at the time it would take to fix. I will never use them again and believe no one should. They should be out of business. more

This was my first time dealing with a plumber. There was puddling around the toilet and I didnt know whether it was the feeder line into the tank that was leaking or the bowl itself. The person on the phone clearly explained what the process would be, the plumber was here within 30 mins of calling on a saturday. He explained what he thinks the problem could be and what will be done. Fixed that issue and also the constant flushing problem that was present in the bowl for ages.Great job by arash. more

We had a leak in our basement bathroom that didn't exactly make the house smell great (ugh) and we needed help fast. The Yellow Pages made us nervous but we spotted the big fat Roto Rooter ad and we took a leap of faith. They rocked. The agent helped us understand all costs up front (I think it was about $30 to make the trip out and give an estimate) and the service technician came within 45 minutes of our call- on a Sunday night! The technician gave us an estimate and fixed the problem on the spot. As much as we're "for the little guy", Roto Rooter delivered and how! more
