Out With the Old, In With the New 4/23/2006

East West is a great resource. Not only do they have lots of new age, alternative books, but they have workshops and speakers, too. Right near Whole Foods, Zenith Supplies and Sunlight Cafe, you can feel pretty comfortable in your alternative, spiritual, organic lifestyle. I like taking some time to browse all the books because sometimes I'm just in a self-help mood...everything from tarot cards to divination tools to feng shui to creativity books, it can be too much sometimes! Then I remember to breathe and release with peace. :) more

East West Bookshop doesn't just have books, it has incense, fountains, journals, chimes, and other prayer and spiritual items. They do have a broad selection of books. They also host events and speakers, and publish a catalog and newsletter. If you're going to stop by for the first, or third, or tenth time, make sure you've got more than a few minutes, because you're going to need it - there's a lot to look at in this sizeable store. more

This is a spectacular place to go where you can be really free-spirited. This place has everything that you will need in order to read about spirits, healing, yoga, and even carries a huge aray of leather journals that are really nice. I like this place because it is very earthy and unfortunately, that most often means that it is also expensive, which is the only downfall. I bought a pair of silver earrings and spent over $40. I still have them two years later and still enjoy them though more

peace and tranquility at 65th and roosevelt 10/18/2005

east west bookshop in seattle's roosevelt neighborhood is one of the most peaceful, tranquil places i know, right up there with the beach or the top of my favorite tree. it is wonderfully quiet, where you are surrounded with books, much like the library, yet there is also the sweet smells of nag champa and sweetgrass. prayer flags, mini buddahs, mirrors, rainbows to align your chakras surround you; as do the sounds of bamboo wind chimes and water fountains running all around you. there is a wonderful used book section and always a wide array of gorgeoug crystals and jewelry for sale. there are also classes, workshops with guest speakers and private psychic readings. whether you have $5, or $100 to spend it is one of seattle';s most beautiful indoor places to visit.namaste. more

Fabulous, friendly, and fun! 8/20/2005

East West Bookshop in Ravenna is infinitely interesting and engaging! This store has been around forever, and offers a wide range of metaphysical and spiritual resources. They host events almost every day, ranging from healing sessions to book tours. They offer many categories of books, including astrology, reiki, and massage therapy, as well and religion and self-empowerment. They also have very friendly staff! more
