Beautiful Campus 8/17/2005

I just stumbled across Ravenscroft School for a soccer game I was attending and just love the campus. The school seems to be very established and diverse. I heard that the cost of schooling there is pretty high, however it looks like they take care of their campus and their students. A feature movie just wrapped filming there a few days ago. Should be neat to see the school on the big screen! more

Private Independent School 7/7/2005

Excellent teachers, but watch out for the class sizes. Another thing to watch for is the very Southern nature of the school culture. All will be elegant and wonderful on the surface, while the reality will take longer to perceive. Also, while multiculturalism is widely admired as a goal, it is not a reality of the school. more

  • Ravenscroft School is an independent, co-educational, college preparatory day school enrolling more than 1,000 students, from prekindergarten through grade 12. The school is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Southern Association of Independent Schools. It comprises of lower school, middle school and upper school divisions. It offers more than 20 advanced placement courses and summer programs. It offers academic skills programs to students who have an identified learning disability, processing issues and attention deficit disorder. The school also provides counseling and health services and has science and computer labs. Its arts program includes classes in voice, band, photography, dance, drama, visual arts and a variety of instrumental ensembles. Established in 1862, Ravenscroft School is located in Raleigh, N.C.
