I made reservations for a group of eight and was so pleased that we were immediately and unequivocally welcomed. When we arrived, the staff received us warmly and ushered us into a beautifully decorated area. From so many other reviewers, one will see that the food is simply outstanding. The wine recommendations from staff were superb. However, the presentations of the dishes were gorgeous. Everyone at the table spoke of the wonderful textures and combinations of the foods. I had the pork and can only speak to its beautiful and lush taste. These people know what they are doing! Trust them and enjoy a wonderful culinary experience!
Pros: Excellent cuisine, beautiful presentations, lovely ambience
Cons: None

Bravo, Margot Cafe, & Chef Margot for an incredible night out on my birthday with three friends on a busy Saturday night. Truly a perfect evening & a perfect dinner in a spectacular dining atmosphere. The hostesses were friendly & seated us immediately even though we were a few minutes early. Our server, Patty, was helpful, professional, & had the right balance of getting us what we needed at the right time but not hovering over us. She was wonderful. We started with a cheese, bread, & fresh peaches appetizer that was a culinary delight & perfect on a hot summer night. We sampled Sangria made on the premises, Spanish wine, & specialty microbrew beer, & topped off the evening with the housemade limoncello. We were not disappointed, all excellent choices. We got steak with greens & beets, spinach linguini, chickpea lemon artichoke chicken, pesto pizza, & gazpacho soup, taking turns sampling from one another's plates. Every bite of every morsel was simply heavenly. I went to Zola's last year on my bday & it does not even compare with Margot. Note we were sat upstairs & even tho it was a hot night, it was cool & comfortable upstairs. And some have written the seating is too close, but that was not the case at all. We had plenty of room & privacy. Kudos, bravo, & we will be back!
Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Food, Dining Experience
Cons: None other than the need for reservations

All I can say is WOW. We went last night and I was thoroughly impressed with everything! Dining room was full, but we were seated right away. Our waiter couldn't have been more nice and friendly- he had a geniune smile on his face for the entire meal service. We ordered a bit of everything- appetizer, soup, salad, and split the mixed grill entree, wine, and finishing off with some baklava and Turkish coffee-- everything tasted wonderful. Service was not slow at all- it was perfect. Our first courses and their yummy bread were served quickly (thank goodness- we were starved) and then the rest of the meal was served at a leisurely pace- but not too slow. There is nothing more frustrating then either being served too quickly (if I wanted "fast" food, I wouldn't have gotten out of my car), or too slowly---this was neither---it was great.
I moved from Houston about a year ago, which had a thriving Middle Eastern/Mediterranean/Turkish culture, and I adored the restaurants. Since I moved here, I've found decent ones, but nothing that really compares or that I would like to take friends and Family....until now.
I will be back to Anatolia often, and will bring people there any chance I get!! YUM...
Pros: Food, Food, Food, Service, Service, Service
Cons: nothing I can think of

I celebrated my 60th birthday at Macke's. The food was delicious, the ambiance was warm, lovely and inviting, and the attention to detail was superb. It was a very personal experience. I think of Macke's as a great place to celebrate but it's also perfect for every day dining.
Pros: Fabulous food and ambiance

On a recent visit to the newly remolded Tabouli's on Belmont Blvd, I was pleased with what I saw. Not only had they added on a beautiful new patio with open garage doors, they had renovated the entire inside of the restaurant and they did a very good job. After being greeted by the friendly host, we were seated at a table on the patio. We started off with the hummus with pita and grape leaves, both were delicious. I had the lasagna, it was cooked perfect, not too hot to eat but cooked all the way through, and tasted great. The service was very friendly, and the place looks great. I would recommend this place as a must try.
Pros: Great food, atmosphere, and service. Full bar with flat screen tv's
Cons: Parking is kinda tricky, but not a real problem.

First off, Jamie Rubin's Family Wash, is like Jamie. The Family Wash never tries to be, or pretends to be hip. However, because of Jamie's generous, welcoming good nature and great musical taste. It just is, in an unpretentious way. The place is casual, like you are visiting a friend's house, and the food is very good. Guinness will be back on tap this April as well as locally brewed Yazoo. Both have been greatly missed in the place, when there were some issues with the liquor license, and stupid Tennessee laws...but I digress. The camaraderie at the Family Wash is an important ingredient found in any successful neighborhood restaurants. It is a welcoming environment where I have met neighbors, made new friends and enjoyed a tasty pint and a pie. And the music is diverse & eclectic and a nod to Jamie's good taste.
Pros: Great atmosphere & music
Cons: No cons

For a leisurely, delicious meal I recommend House of Kabob. The game hen is truly succulent and the other dishes are well above-average. The service is friendly if a trifle slow. But you will want to linger for the rose water ice cream.
Pros: Wonderful and friendly-- if not fast--service
Cons: A little slow getting the check to you

I was in Nashville visiting from Memphis on business for Vanderbilt, when I saw this restaurant's sign above Cheeseburger Charlies and next to Starbucks, across the main North-South street that goes by the east end of campus, where I spent all my time attending a seminar. I visited Mediterranean Cuisine throughout the 6-day seminar and was absolutely thrilled with every visit. The only time the service was slow, it was obviously because the place was jam-packed. The servers are very nice and totally genuine. They made me feel more welcome than anyone else in the whole city did the entire length of my visit. The food? WOW! Yummy!!!
These guys have it down PAT. I went back every single day to try more and more of their offerings. Awesome dishes I had: the Mixed Grill Platter - for $12.49 I got Shrimp Shish-kebab, Kafta Shish-kebab (Black Angus meat they spice up just right and grill on a skewer), Chicken Gyro (always had lamb gyro before; this was great), yellow rice, hummus, warm pita wedges and tabouli. I also tried the Mediterranean Combo, which filled me up on dolmades, hummus, tabouli, falafel, lamb gyro meat, kiffta (ground beef with herbs and spices), and chicken shawarma (chicken breast wedges marinated and cooked in sumptuous spices), all served with rice and warm pita wedges- WOW!!! I raved about this meal so much to the family that I had to order a couple to-go on my way out of town. I enjoyed their fattoush salad, their Greek Salad, their Kibbi Pie, Beef Shawarma Platter and the Daniela Platter. I tried the Sampler Platter, the Jalapeno Hummus, and on the last day, the Steak in a Pocket to take on the road with me. What a find! This place will always get my business any time I am ever in Nashville. Everyone on the staff I met was very personable and friendly, and I have not seen THAT in far too long- it's been years. I was very pleased, and I give the restaurant my highest recommendation. Way to go, guys. =D
Pros: great people, amazing food
Cons: none, whatsoever
