Since 1936, scientists at the Texas Museum of Natural History have been working to show the natural diversity of Texas. Popular exhibits include the Leonhardt Lagoon Nature Walk featuring birds, insects, fish, plants and trees in their natural habitat. The Texas Dinosaurs exhibit is a must-see with its massive skeletal fossils. The Trinity River Mammoth, fossilized in the Ice Age Exhibit, is believed to have roamed the nearby riverbed 20,000 years ago.
