Great Medical School and More.. 5/26/2006

UIC Medical Center is a great place to go if you are looking to get medical training. They offer a very competitive program that is hard to get into, but once you are in, you are gauranteed a really good education. The campus is really nice here and since it is a state school, the tuition is comparatively cheaper than other big medical schools. This center also has a student clinic, where people of all ages can come in and get general check-ups, exams, and x-rays. The facilities are good and inexpensive, but keep in mind that you will be meeting with a student and the wait times for an appointment can be very long. That is the comprimise you will be making to getting affordable health care. more

UIC hospital 8/21/2005

the UIC hospital is one of the leading university hospitals in chicago. They have huge facilities and talented doctors. However for student care, they are not so great. Their waiting time is long and their doctors for the students are subpar. Most of the time they rush the exam and physicals. Also don't try to make an appoinment after noon, you will be bumped for the next day. more

UIC Hospital for student care 8/9/2005

I have been to UIC Hospital for a few times for cold and flu symptoms. Just to warn everyone who is on the UIC student insurance plan, do not plan on getting sick after 12, in the evenings or on the weekend, because trying to make a same day doctor's appointment is impossible. Try to call first thing in the morning to get a spot. The wait is incredibly long even with an appointment. Also drugs are not covered under the plan either, you have to pay a copayment for each drug. more
