Delightful Pastries

I don't know what kind of bee flew into Pat B's bonnet, but my first couple of experiences at Delightful Pastries were nothing but amazing. This small family run business is everything I expected and more. The Tira misu is the absolute best I've had outside of Italy and there was actually a gentleman in the last time I was there who had driven all the way from NewYork just for it. The eclairs are my favorite and if you ever need a birthday cake this is the place. My room mate got my last birthday cake from Delightful Pastries and it was absolutely incredible!!! Nothing is overly sweet. It's exactly how european pastries are and should be. Maybe instead of looking for the special treatment and problems people like Pat B. should worry about the main reason you go to an establishment like this...THE FOOD!!! more

This little neighborhood bakery has very tasty cake slices, cookies and breads. All their products are made European style and this place is owned and operated by Polish folks. They have a few grocery items as well including juice, eggs, coffee, teas and water. At times, the service can be questionable, but I guess it depends on who is working that day. Overall, it's a pretty good neighborhood place to check out when you're in Jeff Park. If you speak Polish it is a plus here ( I do not). more

Okay, the last time I checked in the mirror, I did see a reflection. Sure, I may have a couple more wrinkles and gray hairs than I did a year ago, but yeesh, I DO see that I am NOT invisible. Sooo...answer me this, "Delightful" pastries...why did you wait on every one else (all of whom share your same proud ethnic heritage) AHEAD of me?! They can be very rude here, and you may get good service if their "special" customers are not in line, but heaven help you if they are. You too can feel invisible, just like me! The pastries are just fair to be honest. Some of their cakes LOOK delicious, but they taste like sand and straw - very dry and flavorless. Some of the smaller pastry items are decent, but I can't really recommend them. more
