Strange Cargo is another vintage shop in the Lincoln Park area. I actually think it is one of the best because they have such a nice selection of cool clothing and unique items. But they best thing they do here by far is the customized t-shirts. I used their service for a bachelorette and we got some really cute shirts printed. They can supply shirts for you, but we brought in our own. The pricing was a bit high, but I think the end result was really nice and worth it for a special occassion.

I used to visit this area a lot and that's how I first noticed this interesting shop. This store has an awesome selection of vintage and new clothing, 70's t-shirts, cool sneakers and tons more classic stuff. Very funky and hip, located in a convenient area near all public transportation. What a great place when you are looking for something unusual and retro too.

Strange Cargo has it's purpose in my life (when someone needs a PBR cap), but not one that is called on regularly, thank god. It's usually filled with lame suburbanites kids looking for things that hearken back to a decade they missed. The prices are getting more and more expensive, since I first shopped there years ago, but if you can charge the prices, and people them, well, good for them. The staff is usually way too cool to talk to anyone but each other, which doesn't bother me as they all come across as members of the Audio-Visual Club in high school, but then moved to the city and got a studio in Andersonville, started dressing in clever t-shirts with iron-on's of your favourite 80's band and the low-top chuck taylors, and finished it off with chunky black glasses...oh, wait, I just described the inventory.

I love this store. You can pick out and "make" some really cool t-shirts. Also, this is the place to get funky belts. I got a pirate belt there...Arrr! It also has a good selection of Converse for pretty cheap. I got my hot pink and lime green Converse high tops there for $15. You really can't beat that. They also have goofy nostalgia to transport you back to the days before Pee-Wee Herman was in jail. This store is fun to look around in, even if you don't buy anything.

I walked into the store thinking "cool, tshirt printing" and cheap awesome clothes. The clothes are nothing but old and cheap- like imitation thrift store with hipster prices which I have no respect for. The sales staff is mildly indifferent, if not mean and the store is cramped and seedy. Its not a fun place to shop nor a good place to spend your hard earned money on. Save yourself the trouble of walking further away from the red line and just go to the Army Surplus. At least you can breathe there.

Located about half a mile away from Wrigley Field, Strange Cargo carries clothing, accessories and other merchandise with nostalgic flare. Their main merchandise focuses around their homemade t-shirts. Many of the t-shirts carry 60's,70's, 80's and 90's nostalgic logos such as: The Doors, Zeppelin, Welcome Back Kotter and etc. Their prices are moderate but the variety and uniqueness of this store makes you ignore the price tags. They also sell an array of different Chicago Cubs and other sports teams merchandise. There is something for everyone who enters this store.
