Must-Stop at Faneuil Hall 4/15/2006

If you're on a pub crawl in Faneuil Hall, then you absolutely must stop by Bell in Hand. It's the oldest continuously operating establishment, open since 1795, and they're very much alive and kicking in the 21st century with good bands and lively atmosphere. Whether or not you're a history buff, you'll feel secure in knowing that two centuries of historical figures enjoyed drinking the beer here as much as you do today. more

Great Bar 3/17/2006

Even though the Bell in Hand tends to attract a mixed crowd, it is one of the best bars in Boston. In the Summer, they open the large front windows and it has an excellent ambiance. There is often a line outside and the bar is always packed on weekends, but inside there is always a nice scene and unpretentious staff. Downstairs they often have a live band playing when upstairs is DJ'd. The happy hour specials and food is very reasonable. A good overall bar more
