If you get a chance to get to Ann Arbor, stop by the Ann Arbor hands on museum. Ann Arbor Hands On Museum is one of the best museums in the country. It is absoluetly fabulous for class field trips. Their is a ton of things for the children to do. The parents are also kept very interested. To top it off, the staff is very helpful in planning the trip. The cost is reasonable. I love this museum

Bivouac is THE place to go if you're looking for any outdoor gear in Ann Arbor. They have a price match guarantee: I printed out a sale page from an online Northface retailer and they gave it to me for the same price. The staff are extremely helpful and know their stuff! Bivouac also sells men's and women's designer fashion (expensive, but sometimes goes on sale).
I could spend hours in this store...Highly recommended.

Gallup Park is a great place to go if you're looking to have a picnic with friends and then go canoing on the Huron River. While Gallup Park doesn't have the wide open spaces that The Arb has, it has a rental place where you can grab a canoe and jump on the water. While it may cost you $40 or more to rent a canoe somewhere else, at Gallup Park it's much cheaper and affordable for students to go and take a lazy ride on the river. It's a good time for everyone during the summer with beautiful scenery. It's worth a look if you're looking to do something different with your days in Ann Arbor.

This is a great shoe store for runners or anyone, but they specialize in running shoes. Prices are a little high, but they have a great selection. Parking can be a little difficult, but there is a parking structure not far from the store. They also have lots of information on upcoming races, stickers, and they running energy products as well.

Ann Arbor Cyclery is your best bet for friendly, knowledgeable, quality bicycle service in Ann Arbor. I took my 10 yr old GT Tequesta mountain bike in to replace: a cracked headset, locked front derailleur, stripped cassette, rusty chain, missing spokes, and some cables. :) I took the bike to several other local shops and got quotes exceeding $250. I was immediately impressed with the friendly and open attitude of both employees at the shop. I was sold when the total repair cost was almost half that of 'the other guys'. Of course, the bike rides perfectly now. They were very supportive of DIY solutions. I noticed that they were very kind and helpful to the more inexperienced cyclers also at the shop. Running Fit not only offers a great selection of running gear but also organizes periodic events in town to inspire people to get and stay fit. I participated in one of these just after New Years and was impressed with the organization and also the idea to help keep people moving in the winter.

Huron Hills is an interesting course.
The Front 9 is pretty easy. Generally the holes are short, flat, and open. Even mediocre golfers can do well on the front.
The Back 9 is tougher, however. It's longer, hillier, and narrower.
If you're looking for a challenging 18 holes, Huron Hills isn't your best bet. But if you're looking for something both a good and a mediocre golfer can enjoy together, than this is your course.

This is a great art museum - not too large, but they have some really nice pieces of art. I recently went to see the "Pop Art display" - Andy Warhol stuff, and it was quite nice. The museum asks for a $5 donation, but it is not required for entry. Parking can be a little difficult, usually its hard to find street parking, but there are parking garages close by.
