I have been going to Salon XL for several years and see the owner, Charlie. I cannot say enough good things about this salon and Charlie herself. I have been treated wonderfully there! I have had so many compliments on my hair since I have been going there. . My color looks the best it has ever looked and they are always doing their best to pamper their clients and make them feel welcome. I have had other hair stylists in Ann Arbor ask me who was doing my hair because it looked so good. Once I was not completely happy with my color and Charlie had me back as soon as I could get there to change it. I have had two other friends go there and they would tell you as well that it is the best their hair has ever looked. I think anyone who reads these reviews can see that someone has a personal vendetta against the salon - how unfortunate that they choose to take that out in such an adolescent way.

We highly recommend Bana. There are 3 of us who live in different towns and Ann Arbor is the middle ground where we always go for a girls getaway. Going to the spa is our big treat to ourselves so we don't like to be disappointed. They made us feel so comfortable and pampered. The place is decorated so beautiful and cozy. We all agreed, best facial ever. Some places we have been to we felt like they could care less about us being there. The only complaint here was it took forever to cash out, they need more help at the front desk. Not a biggy though, we will be back next year for sure. Loved it.
Pros: Great staff and atmosphere.

The aesthetics of the shop may not inspire confidence, but don't worry - the quality is in the staff. Adults cuts start at $17.50. They do a good trade with college students, but you'll also see a lot of locals there too.

Pinball Pete’s is an Ann Arbor staple. You will find tons of youths getting down to the great sounds of a pinball arcade at this fine establishment. My favorite game at this arcade is the Guns and Roses pinball machine. Other great machines include the Adams Family Pinball machine. The variety here is unmatched.

The service at Darling Brides is seriously incredible! Kim was my consultant for my appointment, and she was incredibly enthusiastic. I am a plus-size bride and proud of who I am, and she did not make me feel anything but beautiful!
Kim was clearly excited for me, and she encouraged me (insisted really!) that I try on a veil, tiara, necklace, and earrings to see what would go well with the dress that I really liked.
Even though I'm not purchasing my wedding dress at Darling Brides (just found one I liked better elsewhere), my mom is planning to order her dress there (I have no wedding party), and I'm excited that my mom will have the benefit of such personalized service.
There is a lot of dresses for plus-size brides to try on in the store at Darling Brides, and the salon had a lot of great sales the day I was there as well!
I really felt the need to post as I had read the reviews, good and bad, online. I had misgivings about every salon I went to in the Ann Arbor area as they all had mixed reviews. If service is your main thing, go to Darling Brides. It was incredibly personalized, and Kim only focused on me - which was a stark contrast to the service I received at another salon.
I would recommend this salon to any bride!
Pros: service, selection for plus-size brides, enthusiastic staff

I have gotten haircuts around the World and , believe me, Leslie Rodrigues is the best ever. She has a more than professional clinic eye to tell you what your hair needs. Talent describes her amazing ability with the scissors, which I compare to a pencil in an artist's hands.
Definitely, Leslie Rodrigues is an artist.

Moving to Ann Arbor from San Francisco has been quite a shock. It took me a while to believe that many amazing services are tucked away in non-descript strip malls on the outskirts of town. Who knew! Well - Brown and Deline on Jackson Road was just such a find for me. Their manicure / pedicures were incredible and everyone in the place was so friendly! The atmosphere is high energy, but still manages to be relaxing. And the complimentary beverages were a nice touch. From the great haircuts I saw walking out the door, I scheduled more services before walking out the door. A great find!

I had a very good experience at this salon. It is a small non pretentious business where the stylists have a lot of experience and listens to what the customer wants.
I went in with a very bad color that I recieved from another salon and I left Headlines with exactly what I wanted.
The best part was being charged a fair price for all the work that was done to get my hair back into the right color and shape.
I would highly recommend Headlines to anyone in search of a place who charges fair prices and gives the customer exactly what they asked for.
I will continue to go back to them.
