The new ZUM location is as gorgeous as it is energizing! A personal trainers' dream, ZUM has almost every piece of specialty equipment you can dream up, to ensure that every work...

I found Zum to be chic and phony, well suited to yuppies instead of regular folks. They are extremely expensive and seem to care more about the money than the people. Their staff ...

Personal trainers are very knowledgeable and always willing to help after class and give you individual attention when needed. I truly enjoy coming to Zum, it does not feel like coming to the gym to workout but more to coming to hang out w/ a fun community that makes fitness part of their lifestyle. more

best personal training, friendly, helpful staff 3/2/2005

I have been working out with a trainer at ZUM for almost 2 years. I live in Magnolia and it is easy to get to their location, parking is never a problem for me (a.m. to early afternoon) there is always meter parking on the street. I have seen good results w/ my personal trainer, Angel ! I think she is the best! I believe the trainer's are very knowledgeable and make working out fun. The hard core and spin classes are the great!! No matter what your current shape is, if you are committed to healthier habits and working out to improve your overall fitness level for the future ~ there is a trainer there that can help you get going with a plan appropriate for you. I actually look forward to going to the gym. Pros: personal training more

I so much enjoy ZUM . Not only the space, people and what it offers also what it stands for. I go beyond what I see in a place but who is behind it, what they believe in and what there purpose is. ZUM is not for everyone . It is for the one who is serious . Who wants the best that health can offer . Someone who wants to be all they can be... more

Best of the best 1/3/2005

I stumbled across Zum during a time where I was ""between gyms"" that time in everyones life where they are bored and uninspired doing the same stuff at the gym every day. I am a health care practitioner so I understand the importance of whole body movement to provide total body health instead of isolation exercises to make your body look pretty. Zum is simply the best place I have ever seen. Now I say place because it is so much more than a gym with its friendly approachable staff and amazing atmosphere it feels more like a second home. On the down side it is a little pricey. Pros: Expert staff, Friendly, Fun Cons: , Parking more

Yes, it is that good. 12/17/2004

Quite simply the best gym I've ever been to. They preach the kind of fitness that makes you feel great just walking down the street. This is not a place for meat-heads or someone looking for a cardio machine farm. I think you'd know where to find that, at all hours of the day... Pros: Progressive, Not a sports facility, Staff Approachability more

I LUV ZUM 11/20/2004

The folks at Zum are professional, friendly and SMART! They helped me become stronger more agile and leaner making me even more sexy and powerful! The gym is unique and never boaring. I love the inventiveness of the physical challenges and how yummy the space is. Well worth the financial commitment. Pros: fresh, friendly, hours more

New approach to fitness 10/1/2004

I went to ZUM for the first time on a tip from a friend; too much ""aimless"", injurious working out had my body in a constamt state of aches and pains. The long and short of my positive impression about ZUM is that I am pain free and still able to workout to a degree that challenges me. i meet with my trainer - which is part of my membership - once a week and we work on posture, correct movement, focusing my energy to achieve reasonable, healthy goals. I've been working out and playing sports on a competitive level for 25 years and I currently work at another fitness facility as a group exercise instructor. The truth is ZUM is eons ahead of the rest. Their staff knows how to build and heal the body. Check it out! Pros: Excellent Training, Great Classes!, Aestheticly pleasing more

ZUM 4/3/2003

This is NOT just another club - but you won't likely know it until after you spend time with them. After 30 years of other gyms and trainers, there is no better leadership and trainers than at ZUM. They focus on maximizing efficiency in workouts - more time does not equal better results. If you sign up - make sure you take advantage of the knowledgable staff. Peter, Joe, Polli - cannot be beat. They will develop personal plans that fit your body idiosynchracies. This is the full body workout. Pros: Knowledgable, Customized, Effective Cons: Expensive more

too many frills and no basics 1/1/2003

This is an awesome space with flawless design but not enough basic equipment. Too much of the floor is covered by fitness devices that look good in a trendy magazine but have little utilitarian value (the sandbox in particular). Some of the equipment that they have is of high quality, but there is simply not enough of the essentials. It's a crowded space but fortunately the membership level is low enough that you can often go and there is no-one else around. Senior management invites requests and opinions but never acts upon them; I have heard that members are often overcharged. Pros: cool trainers, nice location Cons: problems w/ billing, too small, chandalier in lobby more

Hip and helpful 12/28/2002

Peter Shmock and his staff are uniquely qualified to make sure everyone -- from beginners to pros -- gets what they need. And they do it in a hip setting sure to win awards for commercial interior design. The small club has all the essentials, and lots of details overlooked by run of the mill clubs. Treat yourself to a visit today. Pros: Fair price, Decor, Staff Cons: No pool more
