Yuen Lui Portrait & Wedding Photography

We just had family portraits taken there and most didn't turn out well. I feel that we were very rushed. they could have done some simple things to help like telling one of us that our hair was completely sticking up. The backgrounds they picked seemed inappropriate for what we were wearing and just seemed "off." I don't feel my standards were too high. I just wanted a decent formal-ish portrait of my family. I will go elsewhere next time. more

We've had the Yuen Lui family plan for about 4 years now and had used the Bellevue location for years. After our favorite photographer left that store, we decided to try the Redmond location since it's closer. I was less than impressed. We had multi-generational pictures done with our then 8-month-old and my parents who were visiting from the East Coast. After a very warm sitting, we sat down in the waiting room to wait for our proofs. They brought them out, and they were *all* completely over-exposed. They wanted to reschedule us for the following week for re-takes; however, my parents would no longer be in town, and just getting everyone coordinated and beautiful (especially with kids) is a feat. I was adamant about getting the photos retaken *that* day, and they finally acquiesced and also, after more irritation on my part, did not count that particular sitting against our plan. We did end up with beautiful photos in the end, but only after holding my ground and asking them what they'd do for me. Unless you just can't get to the Bellevue Yuen Lui, I would avoid this location. more

I can always tell a Yuen Lui photograph, even if I don't see the gold embossed logo. They have a trademark way of lighting that makes anybody look good. Their photo's always come out luxurious and are treasures for sure. Their photographers are usually really good with kids and do an excellent job varying the backgrounds, etc. They are an expensive studio, which is their only downside, but if you have children, try going in on one of their Children's Portrait Sales, which are well worth it. If you're looking for a special photo, the price is worth it! more
