Don't use Yellow Cab!! They almost made me miss a flight even though I called the day before to schedule a pick up. The driver seemed stoned and could care less. He was 30 minutes late and no one at dispatch seemed to know what was going on. Very unprofessional! more

Just tried to use this company this morning. Even though I gave my address clearly at least 10x plus speaking to the driver to be clear that I was in Irondale, the guy never showed, kept saying he was just around the corner and finally after 30 minutes late, the dispatcher connected me to the driver who said, ""oh you are in Irondale"" I was very clear, with my directions, the driver lied and the dispatch kept saying that he was right where I was according to their gps. dont use this company. more

B'ham yellow cab doesn't show up for time call 10/25/2011

I will never use yellow cab company in Birmingham again they stood me up on a time call when I needed to get to the airport and catch a flight. I called dispatch three times over a period of 20 minutes each time they told me I should see cab 24 pulling up right away. my final call when I called with the courtesy to cancel they hung up on me before I got the full word cancel out of my mouth no appology or sfa. I use a lot of taxis and I'm happy that B'ham has plenty of companies to choose from. Pros: null Cons: null more

IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! 9/17/2011

On Saturday evening around 8:30pm, my friend who was visiting from Chicago called the Yellow Cab Company to take a cab from the Holiday Inn located near the airport to my apartment which is located about 5-8mins away in the Crestwood area. Not being familiar with the area he Goggled the location which stated that the distance was about 2-2 1/2 miles. Previously that morning, I took a cab from my apt to the same hotel and my fare, INCLUDING tip was $10.00. When my friend finally arrived to my residence he informed me that he was charged $30.00. Not only that, the driver, whose name is Thomas, informed him once he got into the cab that it was a flat rate of $20.00. Also, the driver asked him did he have/ or know of anywhere he could get some alcohol and/or drugs, in particular Marijuana. I was also informed that he never turned on his meter, and to add insult to injury dropped him off about a half of a mile from my apt building forcing my friend to walk the rest of the way to my apt. When we tried to contact the company, we were put on hold a half of dozen times, hung up on 4 times, and when we eventually were able to speak with a supervisor, not only was he rude, condescending, and yelled at us for no apparent reason he, along with another rude dispatcher, refuse to do anything, apologize, or even listen to what we were ALLOWED to say.(In between interrupting, putting us on hold, and having to explain the same situation over and over again to the same individuals). Later that evening, when my friend was ready to go back to his hotel, we opted to called another cab company, for obvious reasons-Ambassador Cab and Airport Service. After the driver called my cell to confirm the address and get directions from me personally, he never showed up or called back again. I tried several times to contact the driver, and I also called the main number that was listed in the Yellow Pages. No one ever answered, called back, or for that matter, showed up. This lasted for 3hrs. My friend is leaving tonight, Sunday Sept. 18 around 8:30pm his number is (949) 233-2352 and his name is Ryan Billingsley. He will also be following up with his own complaint letter. Yellow Cab 8/12/2011

I'm a driver for Yellow Cab. All dispatching services have been moved to Little Rock, Ark. This has created some problems because most of the dispatchers don't know a lot about Birmingham. Some of the problems have included being dispatched to wrong addresses in the wrong parts of town. This is what leads to cabs being late or not coming at all. Management is aware of the problem and our GM has been to Little Rock to straighten out the problem. It's gotten much better lately. more

Unreasonable, rude, unprofessional, should be fired 3/4/2011

I work for a local hotel in the Birmingham area. Many of our guests request that we call cabs for them. The dispatchers are not only incredibly rude they genuinely don't seem to care about anyone but themselves. The majority of the drivers will begin to run the meter before the guest even gets to the lobby. They drink the coffee that is meant for our guests and take the papers that the hotel has to pay for. They try to bribe me with candy and money so I will call their personal numbers instead of the dispatchers. Not that doing this would make any difference as they are unreliable. I never look forward to using thier services and don't understand why the people that work for this company are even hired. Really... do you just hire anyone off the street? more

Best cabs in town! 1/27/2011

I don't understand the other reviews. This is by far the best cab service in Birmingham. I use them all the time to get home safe from a night out. All the drivers I have been picked up by have been great. I'll use them EVERY time I go out clubbing. more

Yellow Cab made their first mistake tonight 7/24/2010

I was ripped off by a Yellow Cab driver! I didn't get the car number, and neither the dispatcher, nor the supervisor could give it to me, EVEN THOUGH I CALLED WHILE I WAS STILL IN THE CAB. The supervisor was very sweet, but could not help because the driver would not answer his phone. WTF? This A**hole got paid, and even tipped(though the tip was thrown in his face along with some rather salty language), but I will never use Yellow Cab again. Why? Because the very nice supervisor couldn't give a flying f*ck at a rolling doughnut that I was ripped off, there is no reliable means of complaint, and the only way to actually get even with these turds is to leave them nothing but a steaming pile in the back seat. No matter who you call - DO NOT USE YELLOW CAB! Pros: Love the company, except for this jerk-*** driver Cons: one liar who drove in circles... more

The secret of B'ham Yellow Cab 5/21/2010

As a former b'ham cab driver with yellow cab I can tell you a whole lot of stuff about them.The reason behind the dispatchers and call takers rudeness is because there all convicts on work release from the state prison system,therefore if they loose there jobs they have'nt lost anything because they do not receive a decent pay,and they go back to jail and lay around and do nothing until they find another job or are released from prison.Also the majority of there drivers are convicted felons. I would be very wary of riding with anything yellow cab sent to my door. more

The staff member answering the call was impatient, obviously harried , interested only in scheduling appointment, not providing useful informaiton for future booking. Not a way to attract and retain customers.. not that she really appered to care. 2 stars is generous. more
