My grand daughters go to White Center Heights. The school is very interactive with the surrounding community. Counselors from local community clinics come to the school to help students. The Boy's and Girl's club in one block from the school. Sports, music, art, and communication are all encouraged at every grade level. The thinking at this school is that the whole community should be willing to help raise a child. The staff interact with each other to help each other with students. Often you'll find upper and lower grade students mixed in classrooms. Each helping the others to understand work and life. I have never seen another school so involved with their families.
Pros: The staff are aware of every student, no one is overlooked
Cons: The school is not within walking distance for my grandgirls
