I figured I could try to describe what I wanted to the florists at Westwood Flower garden, and hope that they could give me what I was looking for. So, I told them I wanted a dozen long stemmed yellow roses with gold glitter on them, and a dozen dark blue delphiniums, wrapped with lots of tissue paper and tulle.The florists were super nice about it and more than willing to give it a go. I had tried calling and going to a couple other florists beforehand, and they were not so accommodating. One just flat out told me that they didn't do Hong Kong roses and that I shouldn't be asking for something like that on the Westside -- talk about rude! And many others just didn't understand what I was asking for. The florists here were accommodating and even had it ready for me a little earlier than their opening time, since the graduation I was attending was at 9am.What they produced exceeded my expectations. It wasn't the traditional Hong Kong styled bouquet, but it was lavish and beautifully arranged. What's more, it was HUGE. I'm about 5'3", and this bouquet was about 2/3 my height. You can bet that it blew everything else at that graduation ceremony out of the water, and topped all the other Hong Kong bouquets I saw that day to boot. What's more, it was about the same price you would pay for a Hong Kong bouquet in the San Gabriel Valley anyways, and I didn't have to drive down there or have them delivered like I was contemplating to do.
