After a lovely spa afternoon, what better way to enjoy downtown San Diego than with a lovely lunch at Rice? I have eaten here for both dinner and lunch and though I enjoyed dinne...

Worst

My dinner experience here was horrible. The wait staff didn't know anything about wine, in our party of six, everyone's food was either cold, over-cooked, dry, too salty, too swe...

A fun hotel to visit 1/12/2006

I visited the W hotel for an art event. I had never been to the hotel prior but I'd only heard great things. I was impressed from the moment I walked in the front door! The staff is very kind and cordial. The entire hotel is very modern and is a very happening scene. There are many young people lounging throughout the hotel in the lobby and if you make it up to the fabulous outside bar you won't be disappointed. Yes, the drinks are pricey but the ambiance is well worth it. I had a great time both at the event and checking out the entire hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Diego. more

Awesome Hotel 12/16/2005

This was an awesome hotel... very upscale, trendy, and bougie. It was a bit pricy, but I'm sure you can find good deals. I happened to go on a very busy weekend, but it was a great experience and a great hotel. I highly recommend it for anyone who is going to stay in the San Diego area (downtown) and doesn't yet have a place to stay. more

The W 8/17/2005

I've stayed in several Ws (San Fran, NYC) and this is similar to the rest: trendy bar in the lobby, small cramped rooms. I had a child with me though and it's not really a hotel for children. The location is very good - close to Horton Plaza. The beds are extremely comfortable - a Westin trademark.. more

Coral and sky blue accents, mermaid murals and crisp white shutters opening onto the pool give the mezzanine level Veranda lounge it's own beach vibe as well.
