Pirates! 10/26/2006

I stayed at the Treasure Island hotel on the Vegas Strip. It has a pirate show in this lagoon in front of the hotel that's pretty spectacular. Canons, mermaids, sword fights, the whole deal. The rooms are nice and not super expensive, and the spa is very well equipped. It's not the fanciest place on the strip, but worth it if you're not a high-roller. I loved the decorations of the Paris hotel, and the staff even addresses you in basic French! The Bellagio is obviously a very posh place. If I go back and have some cash to spend, I'll either stay there or at the Luxor (it's shaped like a Pyramid). You can get a lot of entertainment for free in Vegas because the hotels always have something going on. The Excelsior has a jousting match, the fountain show at the Bellagio, the art gallery at the Venetian, etc. You'll find lots of fun stuff to do for sure! more

Need a getaway 7/13/2006

My husband and I took a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. We stayed in a Petite Suite (or was it a mini suite?) at Treasure Island. It was not that much more expensive than a regular room and it had two huge luxurious bathrooms- one with a spa tub and one with a shower. It had a couch in a little sitting area. The check-in staff was very helpful. My husband requested a room with a view, and we got it. We were on the top floor (34 th I believe) with a wonderful view of the strip. We could see the Mirage Volcano and part of the Bellagio Dancing Fountains from our window. As guests of the hotel, we had a special place to view the free nightly show. I think I would stay there again if we ever go to Vegas again. more

Treasure Island 4/3/2006

Treasure Island is a fantastic hotel located near the end of the strip in Las Vegas. They have pretty decent sized standard rooms, most of them with connecting doors to another room for those travelling when booking two rooms. They have a nightly pirate show which is great for kids to watch and they have a nice outdoor bar and club called Tangerine for young adults. more

Watch The Show 3/17/2006

Treasure Island is like most casinos. They've got slots, card games like poker and black jack, they've got a sports bar, they serve alcohol, and so on. So what makes them special? It's the outside of the casino that gives them their flavor. The outside of the casino is built as a set for a show the put on every night for a few hours. There's a big lake, some boats, and a bunch of other props. They get people to dress up in pirate suits and enact a scene where pirates attack each other. The show is quite delightful, and children love it (the pirates don't really hurt each other). The casino used to have a gaint sign with a giant skull, but they recently replaced it and now is shows the letters "TI" in bright colors. You can watch the pirate show for free, and you can walk by anytime to see it. Treasure Island is located on the strip so everyone can see the awesome adventure. more

Treasure Island 2/28/2006

Treasure Island Hotel and Casino keeps changing its image from family-oriented to adult-playland. Even their famous ship battle that occurs nightly has morphed from a swashbuckling adventure to an adult-themed revue called Sirens. The theming is pretty great for this place, but it's basically like stepping into Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. Rooms are average, but watch out for Strip-side rooms (The hotel claims that the exterior rooms facing the Sirens extravaganza have extra insulation, but I've heard otherwise) Restaurants are average but not bad. I think that the price of the hotel is a little inflated when you compare it to other hotels on the Strip. more

Not really faithful to it's theme 2/9/2006

Ok, so there's a few huge ships out front that do a show at night. that's the biggest thing here that speaks of Treasure Island (unless you're in the casino). But otherwise, it's a very basic hotel. The rooms are nice, however, dont' get me wrong (you DO have to pay more for internet access-ACK). Check in is relatively fast, especially in comparison with the other hotels on the Strip. Depending on the room, you can get some great views of the Strip (please know that if you're in the front of the hotel, there are 4 Siren of TI shows nightly). The bathrooms are above average, and the rooms come equipped with safes, and the decor is a bit um, poufy, shall we say (I guess they were going for the Pirates of the Caribbean)? more

Treasure Island! 1/16/2006

Treasure Island is located on the strip in Las Vegas. When I stayed there I really enjoyed the hotel. The room was very nice, much more than I expected and very clean. The room had a perfect view of the strip. The casino was nice too. It has a lot of slot machines and table games to keep you busy. The free pirate show that happens each night outside is a lot of fun. It gets very crowded, go early to stake out a good spot. more

Treasure Island 11/29/2005

Great Accomodations I stayed here for 4 nights in Febuary 2004 and had a terrific time. I stayed in their Executive suite for only 140.00 a night and it was spacious and luxurious. The best room feature though- 2 huge his and her bathrooms. Housekeeping cleaned the room spotless everyday. Excellent service from all the staff especially the valet people. They park your car for free and get it back real fast. The location was great with all the other major hotels directly in the middle. The new pirate show was just okay. The only dissapointment was the food. The buffet was not very good. more

good for kids 8/23/2005

I've stayed here a few times in the past and have never had a complaint. Treasure Island has a great location on the strip, close to the Mirage and other big hotels. Right next door is a really nice shopping mall too! Try and get a room that looks out over the front of the hotel, because then you can get an interesting view of the pirates show down below. Rooms are standard, but nice. more

Nice hotel 8/22/2005

Treasure Island is a nice hotel to visit or stay at. In the front there are two ships that battle. You can stand on the bridge between the dueling ships or out front to watch this free show. Guns go off, smoke arises from the fires, and one of the boats sink. In addition, the inside of the casino is nice too. more

Great Hotel 7/10/2005

Tresure Island is a high quality and clean hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Great place to be and gamble, or eat. There food is very good here, you'll love it. They also offer a pirate show daily outside the casino, very enjoyable to watch. If your staying in the hotel and if you in the front, you can see the show from your hotel window, but I'd suggest watching from the below on the deck. You won't be disappointed in this Hotel/Casino. more

Argh! 7/8/2005

This is one of the tourist attraction on the Strip. Of course, the theme is about pirate and such. They even have a pirate show every half hour for free. It's really cool and look realistic. They are even trying to hire some more actors to make the show even better. They have some luxury pools. The rooms are great and i would recommend the Executive Suite because it's the best one. They have some really great shows and the ticket doesn't cost that much either. more

Treasure Island 6/17/2005

We had family stay at Treasure Island for a few days and I was so glad to have been able to enjoy their facilities. The decor reminds you of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. And out in front of the hotel there is a show of a battle between pirates that is very entertaining to watch. Good food, fun casino and lots to see and do. The rooms are nice. They had a room with two queen beds and two full size bathrooms to use and enjoy when it was finally time to sleep and shower. Great fun ! more
