STAY FAR AWAY!!! 10/5/2009

Bad: The service is horrible. The doctor is pushy. They take advantage of you not knowing certain things. Luckily I have a mother who could help when they tried to push for unnecessary tests and medicines. Dr. Luke basically makes you feel pushed around and abused if you don't do exactly what she says. Horrible place to take your pet if you just need basic care and routine visits!!!. Improvements: Even when informed that cost is a concern they do not find little ways to be helpful and suggest less costly alternatives. It is ridiculous!. more

Happy, Healthy Puppy! 10/3/2009

Great staff, really caring folks! Dr. Luke knows her stuff! We knew when we brought our new puppy home that all was not well, but quick diagnostics and a proactive plan of action laid out by Jennifer and her Assistants quickly had us heading down the right path. The turn-around in the dog's health was amazing, but all in a day's work (or, in our case, a couple of days) for the team at TVH. I got a real sense that acheiving these types of successes is why they all come to work each day, and we're grateful for all the care, instruction, and follow-up we received. I would recommend Dr. Luke and TVH to anyone who loves their pets! Paul & Nora Norris Tierrasanta more

DONT GO!!!!! 9/30/2009

Before going to Dr. Luke I had my dogs teeth cleaned every year by a board certified pet dentist, after losing my job I needed to cut back on cost so I decided to take her to tierrasanta for a "dental month" promotion. All and all the cost was the SAME and their solution was to pull teeth not fill like Dr. Niemic. The Dr. was extremely pushy and made me feel bad if I didn't pay for ALL recommended procedures and there is no excuse for the front desk lady who I found out to be the office manager! She was EXTREMELY rude and pushy. I couldn’t believe how she was talking to me, the CUSTOMER. The rest of the poor staff was helpful but I overheard the way that the management talks to them, so unnecessary and rude. Take your business somewhere else. more

Happy Dog!! 9/29/2009

Love this hospital! I brought my dog in for very bad sneezing. The first thing when I walked in I was greeted with a smile. The staff were all caring and very prompt. I was even given a hospital tour which has never been done at any of the other hospitals I have been too. They seem very concerned about Princess and presented me with the very best care. We later found out it was a foxtail in her nose and they got it out and when she came home she was back to her normal self. She had no more sneezing after that. Thanks for all the care giving and I have finally found my regualr vet. more

awesome--I found a great vet 9/29/2009

new to area and so impressed with the staff--professional, caring, friendly and eager to please (when was the last time someone ask you if you needed help out to your car?) The dr was great--explained everything and obviously loved her job and pets. Would in a heart beat tell everyone to go here! more

A+ vet and staff 9/29/2009

I just loved my experience at TVH. Dr. Luke and staff are very caring and loved my pet. I called because I found them in the yellow pages and they offered half off for my first visit. My pet got bit by a bug of some kind and was broken out in hives and swelling. Dr. Luke and staff were wonderful about explaining what I needed to do to for my pet to make it better. We did a insect test to see what my dog was allergic too and now I have a kit to help when this happens again. What I see here at TVH is a caring team and doctor who wants the best for my pet and me. I give Dr. Luke and her staff a 5 star rating. I have finally found a vet who truly cares for my pet and will go the extra mile to find the answers. Thank you Dr. Luke. more

Great Great Vet 9/28/2009

I just got a new puppy and he wasn't feeling well and I got the best possible care for my little bundle of joy. He was found to have 3 parasites, no wonder he wasn't feeling well. He is back to normal now and I signed up for the puppy package and it even has socialization classes for my new puppy. I just love the way the staff comes right out and plays with my puppy and gives him lots of kisses. They have made me feel a part of a family and not just a client. more

DONT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!!!! 9/28/2009

I brought my boxer to the clinic because she had dirreah. At first the staff was very nice and pleasant. After Dr. Luke came to talk to us...she wrote us up an estimate of $900 to run EVERY test known to man, including blood work, radiology, wet & dry food, and 4 medications! One front desk lady came in to give us the estimate...and when I expressed concern over the amount of tests and prices she got an attituded and put me on a guilt trip. She tried to make me feel like i didnt love my pet because I didnt want to give them $900. I told her that when I take my dog to my old vet, it is only $100 - $150. and if we dont find anything wrong....then we can go from there. She told me that my vet didnt really care about my animals health and was just putting a "bandaid" on the situation. She and the vet remained pushy and rude. Then my husband instructed them to just do a fecal test and give her medicine. After that the front desk lady insulted my husband telling him he needs to be a more caring owner! She said he was too rough with my boxer because she was on a leash, and he kept her by his side instead of letting her run wild! She said he was restraining the dog and that she needs to be able to walk around and explpore. Then as they were leaving...the lady bent down to give my boxer a hug goodbye and said to my dog: Im sorry...i really wish you had a more caring owner" They are rude, pushy, insulting, and they are running a scam!!! Please dont take your pet there, you can get wonderful care somewhere else for a fraction of the price and without being foreced into somehting. There are other vets out there who will give you better care. more

New to the area 9/22/2009

Just moved to the area and found Dr. Luke in the yellow pages. I love the service that she and her great staff provided to us. My dog was in need of his yearly exam and is a senior. Dr. Luke educated me on ways that I can make my pet more comfortable during his senior years. He is now able to run and pay again as he is on meds for his arthritis. It's nice to see him act like a puppy again. I didn't think that there was anything that would help him at this age. Thank you Dr. Luke and staff. more

RE: If you love your pet-stay away! 6/21/2009

I don't know what happened to you or your pet but Dr. Luke has been the greatest on saving my pet from what could have been death to her. My pet too had to be hospitalized and on fluids but she did not have any complications in hospital from the procedure. I'm truly sorry for your loss. It's hard and painful to lose a dear family member. more

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET STAY FAR FAR AWAY 6/18/2009

We took our dog to Tierrasanta Vet Hospital as a stable patient. She had a history of liver levels that went up and down but she was happy, playful, ate well, pooped well and no clinical signs of liver problems. By the strong advice of our vet, Dr. Jennifer Luke we were told our little dog needed fluids to detox her liver. She was to stay for 3 days on an I.V. in her hospital. Two and a half days later our dog was in critical condition. Dr.Luke’s staff brought her out to us and didn’t even notice she was struggling for her life. This procedure caused her to go into cardiac arrest and she died the next morning. It was all very heartbreaking. To make matters worse Dr. Luke slapped us in the face with an additional bill of her services that she performed that evening even after we had to go to a pet emergency hospital where our dog died. So, for $3,000 I have a very small bag of ashes and a broken heart. Stay away from Tierrasanta Vet Hospital and Dr. Jennifer Luke if you love your pet. Dr. Luke if you are reading this you know who we are, remember your tech almost killed our other dog as well more

Crook! 6/6/2009

Stay away! Dr. Luke takes advantage of the fact you love your pet and don't know Veterinary Medicine. She'll make you think you need to do a lot of tests and services you don't need just to make an extra buck. It's a real shame how well she can pull the wool over people's eyes and make them think they are getting "a thorough exam", when they are just being taken advantage of. I would hope my money is paying for her knowledge, not her sales tactics. Unfortunately this is not the case. If you insist on seeing her, get a second opinion and see what they say. You'll be shocked. more

Pushy 6/2/2009

I definitely agree with those posters that say they are pushy. I went in for one consultation when I first moved to Tierrasanta because my dog was slightly limping. As soon as she started to give me a long shpiel about how my dog is an 'athlete' and may need a hip replacement and how they would need to take xrays right away at the cost of $500. I thought to myself 'you have got to be kidding'. We love our dog but given that we have a whole family to support, we have to draw the line somewhere. I never went back again, and took my dog to a much more reasonable vet that I love (Rancho Mesa Animal Hosp.) who never thought she needed a knee replacement and my dog is doing fine 2 years later. However, since that one visit, they continue to call me every once and a while to try to get me to schedule an office visit for vaccines or whatever. Really 'pushy' to say the least. more

great vet 3/21/2009

I love this vet. They took care of my cat when I brought her here. I really don't know why people think it's a bad hospital. They actually care about your animal and tell you what they need. more

A+ vet 3/15/2009

This vet office is fantastic! The staff are all very caring and concerned. They are friendly and welcoming. They will do their best to fit you in for appointments as soon as possible. The doctor takes time to make sure you understand everything, from how to give medication to why shots are needed. I have always left this office with a smile on my and my pet's face. more

You can count on Dr. Luke 3/15/2009

I just love Tierrasanta Vet Hospital. When I have my appointment Dr. Luke always does a complete exam. She checks the ears, eyes, heart, teeth, etc. It actually saves me money in the end because she catches problems before they become huge expensive problems. As for the cost of care? It's in line with other vet offices in the area. Pets are a part of my family and I carry insurance on them to help defray the cost of care. They even file my insurance claims for me so that I can get the most from my insurance. My pets love it at Tierrasanta and I love the staff and couldn't even begin to think of going anywhere else. more

Great Vet Hospital 2/17/2009

Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital is the best. Dr. Luke is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. She wants what is best for her patients and recommends it. Her staff is as equally knowledgeable and compassionate. I have to say she isn't the least expensive Vet out there but she is worth it. She always gives an estimate of charges and tries to stay within those limits and will call when the work they are doing is going to exceed the estimate. They even pass out pagers to the pets owners so they can be sure to contact the owners in case of an emergency. Who does that? Thats amazing. She also does "at home euthanasia" which allows your pets suffering to end in an environment that is comfortable and familiar. That was a big deal for us as some of our previous pets got old and sick. Thank you Dr. Luke. more

Love my Vet 2/12/2009

Never had a bad experience with Dr. Luke. She always explained things in detail to me. Always looking after what's best for my pet. Educates, educates and educates me on problems that come up with my pet. Gives me handouts so that I can read what she already has told me. I love the staff, they are always friendly and caring. My dogs love going to TVH. more

Stay away! 1/25/2009

Pushy sales tactics are used in your time of grief to talk you into tests that your pet does not need. We just got 2 more animals and if they had been fair the first time around, we would have given her plenty of future business. Beware unless you have plenty of money to burn. more
