Great stay, fair neighborhood 4/22/2008

Located in Korea town, this is a decent option. From the outside it dosn't impress, but the inside is clean and good. As I understand it, the hotel is under new ownership and is now called The Wilshire Plaza Hotel. Tulips is the restaurant on the second floor, but it is only open for breakfast and lunch. In my opinion the buffet is overpriced (and the scrambled eggs are undercooked) but anything made to order is delicious!! Great club sandwich, and very friendly bartenders---oh and the Starbucks in the lobby is especially convenient. The barista was awesome, and remembered what I ordered each day!! I would certainly stay here again. It's not a luxury hotel, but for your average stay, I was very very pleased. Pros: Friendly staff, relaxing showers Cons: the neighborhood is a little shady after dark more

Friendly Staff 3/6/2005

I've stayed at the Radisson a number of times. Many of the staff have been with the hotel many years. They are a friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are a bit outdated, but if your hotel is just for sleep, the price is right. more

Not for familiy or woman travelling alon 8/30/2004

I stayed at this hotel for business. I understand that as a career women traveling alone, there's some obstacles to overcome including dodging some men who are out to have a good time. I didn't appreciate the hotel staff when they did absolutely nothing when a few of drunken hotel guest were verbally harassing me in the lobby in front of my senior manager who happens to be a 60 year old lady and did not do anything to stop them. I do not recommend this place to families or woman traveling alone. I definitely did not feel secure what so ever. Pros: Location, Decor Cons: , Inappropriate Guests more

Just fine 9/12/2002

Stayed here for a conference in LA and the place was fine--comfortable rooms, friendly concierges.. What's odd is that there's a pool upstairs, outside, and there are tables all around, but there's no bar., though there is a restaurant... So if you want to have a drink up there in the sunshine, you've got to go down to the lobby, get your drink, and bring it upstairs. The restaurant will give you a beer, but it costs more upstairs than it does downstairs, which is also very odd. more

It's a Radisson--what do you want? 8/22/2002

Sure, it's no Ritz-Carlton, but it's not supposed to be. Don't lurk in the negatives...accentuate the positive! It fulfills its functions admirably. And there's Krispy Kreme and Starbucks in the lobby, and free breakfast on the 2nd floor. Jeez, what do you need, a masseuse throwing rose petals at your feet when you come out of the shower? It's decent for a business traveler, and being in the Korean quadrant means great restaurants nearby. more

Happy Hour Snacking 8/15/2002

This is not a hotel I'd choose to stay in for any reason other than its location. But the lobby lounge is a decent enough after-work/early evening bar, if you happen to be in the neighborhood. The drinks are simple and moderately priced (about $6 for a beer, wine or house cocktail), but there's a passable patio and complimentary cheese cubes, pretzel sticks, crackers, vegetables and spicy peanuts. more

Nothing special, but it works 8/15/2002

There's not much to choose from in this part of the city -- but the Radisson is just fine. The rooms are adequate, but smallish. The cable TV channel selection leaves a lot to be desired -- where's ESPN2 or Fox Sports Net? The parking attendants can be rather obnoxious. Rates are no bargain. more

Good, but not great 7/11/2002

The rooms are average-size and clean. The location is fine, but dining options at night can be limited. The hotel bar is one of the better ones, and the coffee stand with Krispy Kremes is a definite plus. One major concern is parking. Parking is expense and you must valet. Parking on the street for you or your quests is really not an option. more

mid-wilshire lunch haven 6/27/2002

The hotel is pretty standard, but in the middle of Koreatown it is sometimes tough to find a nice sit-down, quiet lunch venue with good service and fresh, continental cuisine. The Tulips Garden at the Radisson is just such a place. Nice ambience, attentive staff and delicious fresh food, including the best soup/salad bar I've seen around, make this a very compelling alternative to other local choices. more

Happy Graduate ! 6/12/2002

I and about 200 other People had our Graduation there from CEI it was Great, the people were nice there was ample parking and after the services the gave Cake and Punch from a Fountain. more

iffy rooms, good hotel 5/19/2002

They've got some great amenities, including a serious Japanese restaurant and a coffee stand with Krispy Kremes. The rooms themselves are so-so at best--I had an alarm clock from 1972 on one recent stay, and the bedding is flimsy and rough on the skin. Staff is professional and accommodating, they seem suited for a better hotel for the most part. Pros: good amenities Cons: old rooms more
