The Robusto Room

The Robusto Room is a quaint martini lounge and cigar bar by day that really wakes up at night. It's definitely the hottest spot on the south side. Drinks are super reasonably priced and the staff is always really friendly. Plus there's a full cigar store attached too. 5 STARS! more

All of my friends and i have been going to the Robusto Room for years. I had my very first cigar in the loung there. Ive always been treated with a great amount of respect every time i walk in the door. the regulars at the bar and even the staff are very friendly and easy to start up a conversation with. nice comfortable couches and chairs all over the place. and you can smoke anywhere you want in there. a great bar with very reasonable prices. I think its a wonderful place to meet old friends or to make some new ones. more

I've been coming to this place for years and some of the reviews blew me away. Clearly this person has ""personal bias"" that they accuse everybody else having! The staff are pleasant and joke with you. The sarcasm is nice and reminds me of the old time bartenders. I love the fact that you can smoke inside and they play all kinds of music. If you like Jazz and Blues, come during the day for a leisure time, on Friday and Saturday it turns into a dance club without having to drive downtown. There may be other bars and cigar places, but having this one so close, with nice people and 20+ scotches: I think I am in heaven! more

I absolutely love this place. Have been here quite a few times and have never had anything less than a fantastic evening. For a lady who really digs cigars the smell and well as enjoying one now and again, this is the best spot for it. They do a great job finding the one cigar that you will dig and the music is the best!!!! I will continue to frequent the Robusto Room as long as it's around. more

One of the best places in South Denver to hang out and chill with a good drink and a nice smoke. The attached Cigar Store (Stogies and Bogeys) Has good selection of cigars, prices or not the cheapest in town but not unreasonable either. The space is divided into three rooms, the cigar shop, the main bar and a small lounge room in between with comfy leather chairs and cigar lockers for the regulars. Smokes and drinks are allowed throughout, there's also an outdoor patio. The Cigar shop closes at about 10 or 11 so buy enough for the night early on as the selection of cigars at the bar is limited. The bar does however have a good mix of premium scotch, wine, rums, vodka, port, etc., the draft beer selection is slim (only 3? draft taps), drink prices are actually lower here than at most other bars in the area. The food selection is very minimal (no kitchen), however they have no qualms about patrons ordering in food from other places, they even have menus from several nearby restaurants that will happily deliver, just ask the staff (my favorite is Jon Holly's Asian Bistro, great sushi). During the day and early evening this is usually a quite place to relax and enjoy a cigar and a drink, free WiFi, so you'll often find someone getting some last minute work done. Starts to get busy about 9 or 10pm and most nights there is a DJ from 10 to 2am. There's a good group of regulars cigar lovers, and if you hang out in the lounge between the bar and cigar shop you can easily strike up a conversation, which is great if come in on your own. The late night crowd is mostly in the 25 to 35 age but there are a fair number of people in the 40's and 50's too. I've seen several reviews that complain about the staff but they are friendly, especially if you treat them with respect. They do get very busy when it's crowded, and you might have to go to the bar to get a refill occasionally, especially if you drink your rounds quickly (more staff late at night would help). Not a place to go if you're a fan of Colorado's smoking ban and don't want to be around people who are enjoying tobacco, with so few places in Denver where you can enjoy a smoke and a drink indoors those that are left are naturally full of people smoking. Can be difficult to find, the easiest thing to do is go to the United Artists Meadows 12 Movies Theater stand in front of the box office turn around and look a little to the left. Awesome spot! Makes downtown look like amatuer hour. This spot is sophisticated without being stuffy. Staff and customers are all attractive and friendly. Come for the Drinks, come for the smoles, and come for both because you can do bothe at this spot, but most of all come for the people! By far my favorite spot in Denver to come kick back after work. Owner Peter Roth and his staff always go the extra mile to make you feel taken care of and at home. Classy place with classy people. Better than anything downtown, this lounge is the perfect blend of chic club and neighborhood bar. The staff is hot and very nice and the prices are very fair for the atmosphere. The day crowd is an upscale cigar crowd and the night crowd is late 20s to 30s blend of hipsters. The DJs on most nights are very good and Karaoke on Monday is always busy and really fun. I frequent many of Denver's lounge hot spots and have to say that the Robusto Room is many levels above par in town. A combination of the staff, owners, great prices and smoke eaters (which keep the air clean), the Robusto Room has a strong lead on anyone in town. I highly recommend going there on a Wednesday or Friday. Arrive early so you can get a couch for you and your friends. They have an excellent selection of cigars with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Everyone is easygoing and very pleasant. The decor and ambiance are hip and modern. The parking is sufficient and FREE (which is always a bonus considering Cherry Creek and Downtown aren't). I love their special events like the cigar tasting events (which also includes either a free Scotch sampling or some other drink that's paired w/ the cigar of the night). While I don't mind the music selection the DJs spin, I sure do miss the live bands (which ranged from jazz, to blues and ska).
