Totally awesome food and fantastic service 6/1/2011

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. Not only do they have phenomenal Thai food, but they also have a warm and pleasant decor and terrific customer service. As a relatively new but very frequent customer, the people there who have come to know me by name always warmly welcome me and ask me how I am. They even remember and know my favorite things to order and special ways I enjoy certain items being prepared. They have the best Pad See Eew on the Eastside, topped with amazing spring rolls, delicious and rich red curry, and wonderful homemade lemonade. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. They're laid back but still a very nice place to have a business lunch or a sweet dinner for two. They combine the best of both worlds--great service and great food! more

Best one in Kirkland so far 8/3/2010

Since we moved to Kirkland, we've been trying to find a decent Thai place with no luck. We finally found one that fit the bill. It's good food (not great - for great Thai food go to Pen Thai in Bothell), moderately priced ($10-12 per plate) in a decent atmosphere. It's not Seattle-quality or Seattle-priced Thai food, but it'll work. Pros: Tasty food with flavor, easy parking, nice atmosphere Cons: A little pricey more

Delicious food but easy on the spiciness 2/21/2010

My family has been eating at this great Thai restaurant for over 20 years. It's been consistently good. Like another reviewer said, the flavors are distinctive from one dish to another (not always the case in other Thai restaurants), portions are good, service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Reading the handful of negative reviews, I can only guess those customers got unlucky because I've been going there for so long and I'm picky about Thai food being authentic. Nothing beats this place for me. However they do go very easy on the heat, so if you love a lot of heat you should go for five stars. Pros: Flavorful, good portions Cons: If you like spicy Thai food, ask for 5 stars every time. more

Really good Thai food for years 12/11/2009

I haven't been to Thai Kitchen for a little while so when I went back I didn't know how the food would be. It was very good and I seem to remember it being very good last year too. I need to go back more often. Good service too. Pros: Consistent, Tasty more

Bland Food + No Heat 12/7/2009

1. No heat!! You know, that would have been ok because these things happen. But they didn't even tell us when we walked in. I had to ask the server to turn up the heat and she told me that their furnace had broke that morning. With two small kids in two, it would have been nice to know before unbundeling them so we could go somewhere else. Or maybe that was their master plan to make us not leave. Cons: Didn't tell us that they had no heat in 30deg winter more

Best Thai Food on the East Side 10/14/2009

Thai restaurants have invaded the East Side over the past couple of years. Many of the newer restaurants are corporate run. They offer nicely styled restaurants but often the food is mediocre at best and service is lacking. The Thai Kitchen in Kirkland is one of the first Thai restaurants on the East Side and remains family owned. The quality of the food is consistent and the wait staff is very dedicated to making your dining experience very enjoyable. When entering the restaurant you feel the genuine Thai hospitality at work here. I eat lunch here most often. I really enjoy the lunch combination's. For about the same price as a premium hamburger at one of the fast food chains you can get a delicious and freshly made meal that is much better for you. For dinner portions seem more generous then some other area restaurants and pricing is inline with other ethnic style restaurants. My family has never been disappointed or left feeling hungry. Its a great place to feed a family. Pros: Wide menu selection, affordable lunch combination's more

Can't belive high ratings! 9/19/2009

Went to this restaurant lured by great reviews on Citisearch. Don't know what went wrong, ether new management, or perhaps chef took a day off, but everything we ordered, soup, pad thai, shrimps, appetizers, everything was beyond bad, it was unpalatable. They even managed to screw up ""home made"" lemonade... I didn't even know that it's possible to make bad lemonade, before I tried their version. They did replaced the lemonade with tea on our request, and the tea was fine. The rest of the food we just left on our plates and went home hungry. Pros: can make good tea Cons: horrible food more

Oh so tasty Thai, authentic in Kirkland 9/17/2009

Went here for an authentic Thai meal, it was tasty and affordable. Had a couple of boozy drinks and the total bill was $30 for my wife and I, pretty decent, and very filling. The place is cute and very authentic, and all and all delicoius Thai food in the heart of Kirkland! Pros: Love this place Cons: Nothing more

close to being there 2/15/2009

Love Thai Kitchen, great food and wonderful staff. We try to eat there at least a couple times a month. The food taste very authentic. more

Excellent food, great service 12/31/2008

Been getting food at Thai Kitchen in Kirkland for the last couple of years (usually to go). The food is great and the service is too. The Bangkok Chicken (3-4 stars) and Chicken Satay are my favorites. Great selection of curries. Solid Thai food on the Eastside. more

A bit of Thai on the East side 5/13/2008

The food and service in the restaurant is always great! The little egg rolls with plum sauce are super addictive and the Phad Thai with chicken and add fried tofu is the BEST .....We also really like the Swimming Rama, the portion here is twice the size of any other Thai place on the east side .......Thanks for being one of the very few great places to eat in Kirkland. Pros: Great food Cons: Call in togo orders or you will wait a bit more

Greatest Thai in the Seattle Area! 5/8/2008

Fabulous Thai food, everything on the menu is wonderful! We eat in or take out all the time and we are always happy! Service is friendly and fast. We have moved out of state recently and make it a piority to eat here whenever we are in town! more

OK Food, Horrible Service 5/2/2008

Tonight is the third time in a month that Thai Kitchen has screwed up my order. The panang curry and potstickers are great, but I've gone home three times with the wrong food. It's a disaster to not simply acknowledge a mistake (it's ten dollars, for goodness sake) and make up for it. Their response also completely depends on who answers the telephone. There are too many other Thai restaurants in the area (I live near 124th and 132nd) to put up with such horrible service. Pros: good panang curry Cons: unreliable takeout service more

BEST THAI FOOD EVER!! 1/10/2008

We experienced the BEST Thai food we have ever eaten right here in Kirkland at Thai Kitchen!! We had spent a month in Thailand, know this is the real thing. We ordered the Tom Ka Gai soup which was full of mushrooms and chicken in the most delicious coconut broth we'd ever tasted. We (four of us) also ordered four entirely different dishes along with jasmine rice: Panang Curry, Ginger Lovers, Thai Rama, and Prawns in Black Bean Sauce. Each dish was significently different from the others, each was a real dining sensation. We were almost embarrassed by our oh's and ah's of pleasure. There was not one bite remaining when we finally left. The service was outstanding, and the to-go counter was busy the entire time, too. Please, ignore the ""bland and boring"" review previously written - it simply has to have been written by a competitor, and a jealous one at that.. Pros: Fantastic food, great service, clean, pleasant ambiance, good parking Cons: NONE!! more

Excellent!! None better in Seattle. 8/29/2007

I travel extensively and prefer to eat Thai food when on the road. There is not doubt that The Thai Kitchen is not only the finest Thai food in Seattle--but in the United States as well. I am a customer for life!! more

Thaitastic! 7/15/2007

Pleasantly surprised. The Thai food is decadent, healthy and high quality. We enjoyed an evening at the Thai Kitchen that was exquisite and hands down risen above the bar in competition. It is a quaint little spot in Kirkland, quiet, and the service was timely and respectable. I would highly recommend this restaurant's flavor to any one craving a delicious Thai lunch or dinner. more

Best Thai Food in Seattle 7/14/2007

From the pad thai to the coconut chicken soup to the yellow curry, everything at this restaurant is the best of the best. You cannot get a bad meal here and for such a tiny kitchen it's amazing how they turn out such incredible food! Pros: Great Food! more

Such a relief! 10/28/2006

When I moved to the Eastside I was worried I wouldn't find as many Thai food options as I had in Seattle. Thai Kitchen has more than satisfied that need & I'm so relieved! I haven't missed the neighborhood restaurants I left since I found it. :) Pros: Great food, friendly staff Cons: Can be busy for take out (call ahead) more

Bland and Boring 10/14/2006

We went to this restaurant based on the reccomendations of citysearch and other reviewers and were utterly disappointed. The food was extremely bland, and not tasteful at all. We had the vegetable tempura for appetizer and it was an interesting twist but the sauce provided with it was more like ketchup. Our main dishes included the red curry with chicken and I ordered it 4 stars out of 5 for spiciness and it was extremely bland. There are definately better Thai restuarants to visit more

Favorite Thai Restaurant 6/19/2006

This is my favorite Thai Restaurant. The food is consistently good, the menu is extensive and includes one of my favorite dishes (Mussaman Curry with Chicken). This is also the restaurant where my fiance and I had our first date. Others have mentioned the atmosphere and location are not the best, but it is conveniently located and the owners have decorated it in a very cute way. My only complaint is it sometimes feels cold there in winter time due to it being a storefront location. Favorite dishes: vegetarian egg rolls, tom kha gai, mussaman curry, phad thai, coriandor beef. I might also mention that we recently brought some food to go to a friend's house who happens to be practically a gourmet chef. She raved about the food as well. Pros: menu selection, consistency of food quality, service Cons: a little chilly in the winter more
